We have one for each of the faculties, which is further divided by subject, eg Business and Social Science Accounting & Finance Business Studies Economics etc What happens within each subject is left to the teachers. We also have one Staff Shared Folders which is very complicated, eg Deputy Principal & PA DOF & Administration Manager DOF & Finance Manager DOF & Personnel Administrator etc It's way too complicated but it is comprehensive, and yes assigning permissions to the appropriate people is a nightmare, but it's what they want. We ban the uploading of images, videos, mp3s, etc to this. We have another shared drive for these and the ability to upload to this is limited to the head of faculties. Total disk space is set and we won't expand it. If it gets full, they have to delete stuff before they can upload more. We are trying to force them to upload videos and sound files to the streaming media server and pictures to the image server. We're on a hiding to nothing in this regard but with the disk quota is up to the teachers how they use the space.

I get them at the change of the seasons or maybe it's eczema - it's hard to tell from the pictures supplied by Dr Google. Seriously, I've had them off and on for years. I used to attend the skin hospital in Birmingham and they said it was hives. My GP said it was eczema. Both prescribed cortisone creams which didn't help much. What works for me, although it may not work for you, is to wipe the area with surgical spirit. Not wearing clothes helps too (not very practical most of the time) and when I have to wear clothes (which is most of the time), natural fibres help a lot. This can be a problem in itself. Finding pure cotton shirts and trousers is no problem, but pure wool sox is. The answer is to knit my own on a 100 year old circular knitting machine. I can turn out a pair in a couple of hours.

A lot of universities use TechSmith Relay. I've seen it in operation and it's very easy. The teacher clicks the big red "Go" button and it captures their screen and mike. When they've finished, the click stop and the content is available on a streaming server. It might be worth talking to MEDIAL We use their streaming server and at the last user group meeting (Nov 2015), they said they were looking at direct screen capture in a web browser using a generic plugin and auto-upload to media server. I don't know how far they have gotten with this. What they do have, and we are implementing this over the summer is live streaming. You capture something using an HLS app on your iOS or Android device (eg Wowza GoCoder) and it can be watched live on the streaming server in any web browser. The content can also be kept on the streaming server permanently. I know it's not what your looking for - you want to record directly, but it might be useful in other instances. If you use Moodle or Blackboard, MEDIAL integrates very well.

Ah yes, the old using the wrong browser problem. Our staff have finally just about learned to use Chrome for everything except the MIS system, which only works in IE.
