Lucky you! I didn't have a home PC until 2002; I never needed one as I used the boxes at work. I noticed last night my case still has an "Intel Inside Pentium 4" and a "Creative EAX" sticker, even though it's a core i5 and Realtek sound. Maybe I'll stick the appropriate stickers on as well.

1p per sheet b/w, 5p per sheet for colour. Students get £2 at the start of the year and if the need any more, they pay. Staff get £10 at the start of the year. When we went Papercut 12 months ago, the idea was when that £10 was used up, they were supposed to plead their case to SMT as to why they wanted more. All printing should go via reprographics. In reality, what happens is staff ask for more credit and they are given it. By my reckoning, we've printed about 1/3 more that last year - so much for the reducing printing idea. Our biggest user is in admissions 24,935 pages since August last year. Our next biggest is a teacher at 13,423 pages - clearly he hasn't heard of reprographics, where the nice lady will print anything on her fast and superior quality printer.

I've still got my nice beige case from 2001, with it's third set of works. I updated it last year, including a new DVD writer. Sadly I couldn't get a beige one and the bezel from the old one wouldn't fit, so it's got this horrid black rectangle on the front. I've still got the original keyboard too - it's made by Tsunami, whoever they are/were.

I believe you've selected the wrong driver - I can't be sure as I've only ever run MySQL. Anyway, you said that you've installed MSSQL but your left had screen shot shows you are selecting the MySQL driver. You need the SQL Server Microsoft driver further down the list (which I guessing you haven't installed since it says not available).

We have this one Welcome to Compucharge but we didn't pay the price shown on the website (I can't remember were we bought it from.) It's good because the iPads are locked away in the MFL classroom so the teacher doesn't have to drag them into the room. They stay charged (provided fast fingers doesn't unplug it). Ours are used for MFL listening - students supply their own headphones.

Laser turntable - very nice. Sadly I can't afford one. I've always wanted one and some plasma speakers to go with it. My amp is built as a twin mono setup, which is why it weighs 20kgs.

Absolutely none - never been interested in such things.

I can't help you except to say that a good turntable will last you a lifetime. I bought my Kenwood in the mid 1970s and it's still going strong. It gets regular use, which might help in this regard.

There are some paid modules for Moodle but the core is open source. They could lock a customer out by changing the Moodle admin password, but the customer could always change it in the MySql database.

I'm no p/s expert, but I've found this approach to be helpful to find out what is going on foreach ($Computer in $RemoteComputers) { echo $Computer | %{echo $_;} echo "============" } Basically make sure what you think is being processed, is actually being processed.

What we did, is setup a user "calendar" and shared the calendar with all staff. It is up to staff to add the calendar to their outlook, either desktop or owa. They only need to do this once. Some staff, the calendar maintainers, have editor rights to it - they can create items, edit all, delete all and have read set to full details. We also display it on the staff/student portals and public facing website. A powershell script exports the outlook calendar as a csv. This is grabbed by a php script, which creates files to be imported into the portals and website. Some items, based on outlook category, aren't displayed on the public facing website. Joe Public doesn't need to know about staff meetings, etc.
