As above. It's a while since I set it up, but you can register both to a single domain. Set the DNS records appropriate to your needs - we had mail on O365 and our website was built in Google sites, so mix and match is fine. I'd highly recommend setting up AD Connect (assuming you're using on-site AD for account management). It'll then auto provision accounts in Google Workspace and authenticate against Azure AD. (This is free and straightforward to set up. The only complication I encountered was for users who already had Google Workspace accounts.) Alternatively, you can use Google authentication to create Azure AD accounts (free) which can be configured to create on premises/hybrid AD accounts (requires paid services), but that seemed more complicated to me and you probably already have on premises AD.

Went to a pub yesterday for the first time in a year. OH and I both unexpectedly free, sun unexpectedly shining, just the right compromise between enough people being around to not feel like an exhibit and feel that there were people or socialising, but also similarly distanced to sitting in a park (it was actually a beer garden, not a marquee). Nice cold beer, average but freshly cooked food; felt great. Really looking forward to socialising with friends, but this felt like a step on the way - partly because it was on the spur of the moment. Haven't done anything like that for ages.

I've mentioned it before - I know people who've had it twice. Not anecdotal - one's a doctor and the other is their partner and the tests were verified by a national lab as it was considered unusual at the time. Their second dose was milder, but after 6 months having been a keen runner, they're now only building up to longer walks and their senses of smell and taste are broken (they now can smell some things, but alcohol smells rancid and sweet things taste salty). There also seems to be a big problem in some provinces of Brazil, whereby the second infection seems to be a different variant and causing serious illness. At the minute, our death and hospitalisation rates are low, but half the population is unprotected. That gives a massive reservoir of potential infection for variants to develop against which the protection provided by the existing vaccinations is unknown. And that doesn't even include the important point that Elsie made about importing variants. I have to admit that from feeling very hopeful when my OH got their vaccine on 1st January, I'm heading towards pessimism at the minute. I'm really missing friends and concerts and theatres and travelling and I'm not convinced it's getting much closer.

I agree - my point was about how the average user perceives it. From what I've seen, people mostly seem to prefer attaching files to emails and sending them around. Therefore the only thing people think it's useful for is video conferencing. I've seen some excellent implementations and maybe things are improving - but I'm happy with my tongue in cheek sweeping generalisation.

Guess I'm 50:50 on whether I get my 2nd appointment moved then... I was offered 5 dates, 2 in one week and 3 in the following week and from all of the sites offered (about 8 ranging from 15 minutes to an hour's drive), none of them was the site where I had my first one [emoji2369] 5 weeks to go though, so who knows what'll happen by then. Obviously I appreciate that it's an incredibly complicated bit of scheduling and the bottom line is that everyone I know has been offered the vaccine in the timescales given including the second shots, which must be a lot more complicated than the first ones.

Also don't despair if you are forced to look at Chromebooks - they work well with Office 365/Teams/SharePoint online. You can also use an official app to access network shares, although I haven't deployed that, so can't comment on how will it works. No Smart Notebook though.

Exactly the same principle as front line health workers who were absolutely top of the list - and it wasn't done out of generosity, it was out of the need to keep front line health services working effectively. You're part of that. It's also inevitable that when you are running a vaccination service, if you're going to ensure that you definitely don't run out of vaccine for the last appointments of the day, you need a bit of a contingency and it's far better to use it than waste it. The fact you've had yours from the contingency (that would otherwise be thrown away for safety reasons) means that they'll get through the list quicker for everyone else.

Nope. Out of the 10 people I know who've had a first dose only 2 were given a date for the second at the same time as the first. Maybe that's because we were all contacted rather than proactively booking online (I was called by my GP's surgery on the day I became eligible).

I have the BT "whole house" mesh system which replaced Unifi APs connected via Devolo HomePlug network over mains electric when a couple of them died. I get great coverage in a very tricky building and when I test network speed it's pretty good, however it does seem to struggle when several devices try and stream video from a single AP (eg YouView box streaming and several people looking at videos on their phone when we're pretending to be sociable by sitting in the same room, but actually everyone's just looking at their phone [emoji17]). We also had issues when three people were trying to take part in Teams/Zoom calls and I could see that the clients were connected to the same AP, but when I made everyone move to different parts of the house to connect to different APs, it was fine. Draytek kit tends to be better than most consumer grade kit, so I'd expect it to be good. When my contract with BT ends in August I'm planning to have run network cable around the house and go back to Unifi...

Don't most of the screens come with an IEC cable rather than hard wired? In which case, retain the branded cable for warranty purposes and cut the plug off one of the 300 you've got neatly coiled in a box in the server room to wire in to the fused spur.

Edit: I think I solved this myself. I am going to try using =CELL("filename") to find the path and add the result into my formula. I'm trying to create a learning log for a course. They'll gather evidence of having completed tasks in documents that they'll be given templates for. As participants don't belong to a single organisation and the course administrators don't have a cloud computing tenancy, the intention is to set up a folder structure with all of the required documents and send it as a zip file to the participants to update. I'd like to include a file which lists the content of the folder and updates on demand. This will essentially be a tracking document so that the trainers can see what work has been completed and what is outstanding. I can see how to do this with Excel using the File function, but for that you need the whole path. I won't know that when I set up the folder as presumably it will include the username and may not be in the c:users directory. Can I use a wildcard in the formula or is there a way to automatically pull in the path? Or is there a better way of doing it? I hope that most participants will have Office of some flavour, but can't guarantee what one. The long-term solution is a Learning Management System - but despite being very expensive and not offering anything that M365 doesn't, it's running years behind...

I have seen an issue where a second drive fails during or shortly after the RAID rebuild. It's a very read/write intensive process and assuming your disks were bought at the same time, they're likely to be from the same batch and have similar wear to the one that's died. Most times it works fine - just make sure you've got that backup first!

Hmmm I think it might be.... complicated I did a quick search for "SoundCloud education UK" before I posted the first time and the top results all mentioned "free". Closer inspection talks about free content, so I suspect it might be specific accounts that offer their content free, e.g. department of education. Sorry if I've led you down a dead end.
