There are a few things to set up, but it can be a straightforward user experience. The way I've set it up in the past (I don't currently have access to a Google Workspace admin account) has some pre-requisites: You need: An admin account in Google Workspace for education Management licences for the Chromebooks Once the devices are enrolled, they can be set to auto-complete the domain without users having to type it in. To use the actual AD accounts, you'll need to set up Azure AD Connect to provision the Google Workspace accounts

I didn't choose the supplier, but given what I had to work with there were some advantages. Offshore wouldn't be my first choice and I'd always prefer to employ someone local, but you can get good results.

Using a shared account is obviously a really bad idea, but you knew that so I'll leave you to explain to the seniors.... As you've got a Google Workspace tenancy, but aren't using it, I'd suggest you issue the mobile phone users accounts on that and then have them login to the phones using that. It would give you a way of managing security even without setting up MDM - your galaxy is that the Google Workspace admin can change the password on the accounts used in the phone and then remotely wipe them if need be. In your situation I'd suggest that someone creates contact details in your Microsoft tenancy and then have people install the Outlook app and synchronise their contacts. If it's a big number of people, I'd put them in their own group and only give permissions to that group to see them; if it's a small number, I'd just have one person create the contacts and then share them individually with the people who need them. There are more automated ways of doing it, but if it's small scale, I think this is a reasonable compromise - you don't want to either incur a big bill from your support company or end up having to learn how to do it yourself.

Yep, which is why I haven't booked. Reasons for going are beyond "I just fancy going" but definitely don't fall under essential travel. We've delayed for two years and missing this slot would add another whole year. It seems unambiguous that you're not committed to anything until you sign the new agreement because it's not a renewal. Also useful that they confirm that if you don't sign by 31st March 2022 but change your mind later, they will backdate the agreement to that date and provide any updates that have been released in the mean time. To me that means no pressure to cancel at this point (there's nothing to cancel) and that there's no chance that they wouldn't take you back even after your contact has expired, never mind leaving it to the last minute. Just spend the next couple of months investigating and then either migrate or don't.

I'm guessing it will depend on what is determined to be The Boundary. Regs say at least 1m from the boundary and you usually need 300mm clearance behind. When a surveyor visited my OH's mother, he mentioned 4m from a neighbouring house, but I can't find any mention of that anywhere. He also recommended against using an alcove type space as it can make them noisier. I suspect the passageway with a roof might create the same problem. In terms of noise, mine is against my study wall underneath the window. I can hear it hum - until I turn my PC on which completely drowns it out. The ASHP I have also comes in a version you can install indoors - sounds illogical, but you use ducts to draw in warm(er) air and exhaust cold air. It's intended for plant rooms and they make big systems which are popular for blocks of flats in Germany, but I can't see why you couldn't put one in the loft and use a lot of soundproofing.

LFT has always been intended as a screening test. If you are symptomatic, you should get a PCR test ASAP, whether or not your LFT is negative. The main benefit of LFTs is that it picks up some asymptomatic (and some pre-symptomatic before you start shedding virus and becoming highly infectious) cases in the community and this slows down the spread by reducing the chance of people who don't know they've got Covid spreading it around. It's not a green light, but along with other measures like proper mask wearing, good ventilation, working from home where possible, it reduces the number of cases overall. I heard an interview with a senior Scottish public health figure yesterday and his recommendation was that every day you're going to meet with other people you should take an LFT. Twice a week is useful, but the more often you test, the more likely you are to avoid infecting other people, should you be unfortunate enough to be infected yourself. I also know two people who've had a positive LFT (while asymptomatic) followed by a negative PCR followed by symptoms followed by a positive PCR.

Mostly the case numbers are based on the ONS population survey which gives an estimate based on prevalence in the general population.
