Right well what has happened now is that, with a bit of sellotape, the micro sim and adaptor are now recognised and he can make calls. BUT he can't connect to the internet - could be a phone provider thing - but it is 3 not Vodafone (keep up, witch!!)
-
@Oaktech - you started this.......
-
He dug out his old phone and the sim is recognised. he thinks it might be an issue with the microsim in his new phone, he bought an adaptor but maybe that doesn't work properly?
-
Maybe. but the whole point was to use his data allowance whilst on holiday for maps, culture etc
-
Is this going anywhere? What about @The_Oracle and @Tammie ?
-
It is a dual SIM but he is only using one. He just wants to swap out his phone for this phablet for when we go on holiday. TBH using a phone as a hotspot with my tablet seemed the best idea but it just wouldnt work
-
hmm. I'm sure we are probably doing something really dumb
-
You'd think so - but we couldn't get the hotspot thing working with either my phone or his and my tablet. His phone is Vodaphone. I will try mine though and see if it works
-
mrwITch has bought himself a 9 in phablet (says "mediatek" when it boots) but he cannot get the microSIM from his phone to work with it. He bought an adaptor but can still not get it to be detected in either SIM card slot. It seems to be quite a tight fit but still doesn't work. Can anyone shed any light on this? (no comments about the phablet please - I've probably said it all already )

We have very heavy rain here, and thunder and lightening! Yay!!!
-
Maybe if the kit was off, and is left long enough to dry out, some of it might recover? Hope so. Sending eduJD and hugs

We had some very heavy rain at lunchtime and, yay, a bit of thunder too. Not enough, we never do, but at least some

New School Rules Let Boys Wear Skirts: The Times And The Sunday Times
witch replied to 6Foot2's topic in General Chat
I have read quite a few stories about children who feel they are in the wrong body and they do actually ring quite true - I was cynical at first but there was a distinct difference between a tomboy girl just saying "i wish I was a boy" and a child having a deep and solid feeling that they are really not what they look like on the outside. I am all for children being able to wear whatever aspect of the school uniform suits them. I have always hated the fact that the boys and girls uniforms at local schools are different - the boys had to wear a tie but not the girls at my children's senior school. Different sports kit too which makes it expensive if you have boys and girls. Why not just make one list with trousers, skirts, whatever? -
Hello @Mills and welcome
