We have a MAK key for Enterprise LTSB, but not for CB oddly. But still no ISOs.

And if anyone fancies uploading the Education ISO somewhere, then feel free :-)

Education's basically the same as Enterprise, with no LTSB https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10_editions#Comparison_chart Perhaps they wanted to have different SKUs to prevent piracy or summint.

Apologies if this has been discussed before, but presumably Education is the version to use? I see keys for Education, Enterprise LTSB, and Pro. Current Branch seems to be the logical version to use, and if they're not providing Enterprise CB then presumably it's got to be Education.

A shame they don't distribute the ISOs via BitTorrent or some other mechanism. You still need the key to use it anyway (legitimately), and hacked versions will no doubt appear irrespective. Particularly if they can't get their own licensing centre to work!

Let us know what you find out. I'm in no great rush to install, but I wanted to try it at least.

Looks like docusign are the de facto guys for online forms.

Hi folks, Sorry for putting this in the general forum, but none of the others seem all that appropriate. We want to be able to send forms to parents that they can fill out, and then electronically sign in some form. We are already familiar with PDF forms, but haven't gone as far as getting those signed e.g. using Adobe Echosign. Are there other/better solutions? Are there cloud/Internet based solutions which are done completely online? TIA

I'm asking on behalf of a colleague who has done some county training, but the course was basic and testing simple items, and the trainer was not familiar with this tester (which is more complex than most). Anyway, we got an answer from someone else at the company that did the training. For reference it's just the first Class 1 and 2 tests, relevant to the class of the equipment (the tester also has an IT PE Touch test, among others). Also it looks like we've found the barcodes at Opticon's site, having identified the exact scanner.

Hi folks, Has anyone heard of a system that will synchronise a set of standard clocks across a school? e.g. using wireless. I’m thinking of something other than the normal radio time signal clocks, specifically with a view to finding something cheaper, although I suspect this is unlikely. We have around 60-70 clocks, but 30 or so are already the radio type. TIA

Hi folks, We have a Seaward Primetest 350 portable appliance tester. We're having a couple of issues with it. 1. We have an Opticon Bluetooth scanner, but the barcode sheet to use it is missing. By chance does anyone have this? 2. There are over 20 automated tests, several of which are for IT equipment. What should we use? Seaward support are incredibly unhelpful, and have no answer to any of this? TIA

Hi folks, Just curious as to what others are using to update apps and other software, and install both OS and apps. Clearly Config Manager is one solution, but is anyone using Ninite Pro, EMCO Remote Installer, or other solutions? Good or bad experiences with any of these types of programs? TIA

(Couldn't find an exact forum for this) Hi folks, Our Head of Computing would like to demonstrate the command prompt to students, apparently as part of changes to the KS3 curriculum. I’m not sure of the detail, but the initial suggestion was to use Console2, but this is just a live command prompt alternative. I’m not enamoured with the idea of giving students command prompt access, albeit there are ways we could limit it. An emulator seems like a much better idea to me, and web based even better. I can find a Linux based one (Javascript PC Emulator), but nothing MS DOS. It might well be that Linux is good enough, as is does demonstrate the concept at least. Is anyone else doing this, and if so how are you approaching it? TIA

Thanks both. I migrated all the VMs and shutdown the host. Of course the host got stuck as well shutting down, so after waiting 20 minutes I turned it off manually. That restored the VM to being available on the other host, and it powered up without issue. Phew!

Hi folks, A vital DC is refusing to shut down this morning, after locking up when trying to close down Active Directory. Currnetly it's stuck on "Please wait for the User Profile Service". When I try and "Turn Off" I get an error that "The application encountered an error while attempting to change the state of 'SERVER'. 'SERVER' failed to change state. The operation cannot be performed while the object is in its current state." I can't find much in Google, but what I can find suggests this will be stuck like this. I'm somewhat incensed that Hyper-V won't let me turn it off, but equally I need a solution. My current plan is to copy the VHDX and create a new VM based on it and see what happens. Failing that I'll do a whole VM restore from a day or two ago and see if that can be resurrected. Any other ideas? TIA

Why didn't MS make the Groups dialog the same as Exchange distribution list dialog? Sigh...

I have tried to connect to it before, but couldn't get it to work. It looks like that's my only alternative, so I'll retry.

Hi folks, I know screensavers are evil, don't actually save the screen any more, I should put screen on standby etc. etc. But anyone know any that work with or even take advantage of dual monitor setups? Dream Aquarium is the only one I'm aware of, but it's a bit flakey. TIA
