Yes, the idea is it's a private dialogue between the two students. I think also there might need to be a monitoring element - with OneDrive we could always view the conversation via the student's account, if need be.

Hi folks, Our Y7 Head of Year wants to be able to partner up Y7s with incoming Y6s. He wants the Y6s to be able to ask a question, digitally, of their Y7 partner. The only way I can think to do this is via a OneDrive spreadsheet/document, as all the Y7s have OneDrive, they can create a spreadsheet/document, and then share it with their Y6 partner. But it’s a fairly dull way of doing it. Is anyone aware of an alternative method that fits the requirement, is easy-to-use, and just a bit more… exciting? Thanks

Hi folks, A couple of questions: 1. Is it worth enabling driver download on WSUS, and more to the point does it take up a lot of space? 2. How much space should WSUS use? I've enabled updates for XP through to Win 10, and for Office, and it's used around 350GB of space. Is that normal? Thanks

Hi folks, Using RDCM on a handful of machines. All are configured identically, but one comes up with the error "Unknown disconnection reason 50331671" when I try to connect to any server. All I can find on this is a list of errors, including this one, which describes it as "Your computer can't connect to the remote computer because a security package error occurred in the transport layer. Retry the connection or contact your network administrator for assistance." It turned out that the tool I was using to remote to the PC was the issue. The keyboard had changed to UK, but for some reason the remote tool wasn't emulating the UK keyboard.

WoL is definitely better (this is with latest 2016 driver), but not 100%.

Have any of you been able to get Wake on LAN to work now with this board? It was fine with Win 7, but no longer seems to work with Win 10.

I'm at a loss as to what's going on now, and have removed all registry settings except for the keyboard preload. On a Win 10 test VM the keyboard is in UK form, it seems that all other classroom PCs have switched to US keyboard. The keyboard preload setting is under HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Keyboard Layout > Reload. Value 1 is set to 00000809. I've checked this on both my test VM and some classroom PCs and the registry setting is there. Why is the keyboard not defaulting to UK?

And to ensure the changes apply on the login screen, would that still work with the registry changes applied to a User Config?

Another frustration we have is that the login screen is set to US keyboard settings, so would a User Config settings also take effect prior to login at this screen? I've looked at the registry wizard, and I can source these settings from a PC that's been deployed with the correct (English International) version of Windows 10. It seemed quite a straightforward way to do it. Is this an approach you'd recommend? Sorry, questions!

@Arthur Just to double check, do you apply these under Computer Configuration or User Configuration? I'm guessing the former, but just to be sure.

Computer Configuration > Preferences > Windows Settings > Registry It's also under User Configuration.

Hi folks, We have an issue with the Intel DH61WW motherboard, with Windows 10 (currently build 1703). We have around 100 PCs with this motherboard. Randomly, when the PC is turned on the Intel 82579LM network connection shows with the error: "This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful." We have updated to the latest Intel network driver (25 July 2016, version 12.15.31.4). The motherboard has the latest BIOS, 0120. The solution is simple, to turn the PC off and back on, but it can take two or three attempts, and inevitably is frustrating. Has anyone encountered this problem, and have a fix? Thanks

Yep, it's a right pain with the US version. Logon screen has US keyboard, so students unwittingly use the wrong characters when changing password e.g. #. @. Excel and Word are using US formats e.g. paper sizes, currency. I'm hoping that it can be corrected with this registry change, to save redeploying!

Agh! Missed that. Does it default to UK in terms of region, and a UK keyboard?

I don't have that option to download, at least for Win 10 1703 at the VLSC.

Do you edit the WIM prior to deployment? I still have yet to tackle this, but it seems it will require a registry edit sent via GPO.

On a related note, the login screen shows the time in 12-hour format. I'm guessing if the install was set to UK this would be 24-hour clock. A niggle that would be nice to fix also.

Hi folks, We've deployed 1607 to several hundred PCs, and spotted that the "Country or region" is set to United States. So far it doesn't seem to be a catastrophic issue, as it means default dates and current in apps e.g. Excel, are defaulting to US format. The problem is I can't spot a way of changing it. The Default Domain policy already has User Configuration > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Regional Options set with an End User Default Locale of English (United Kingdom). Is anyone of aware of where this needs to be set in GP? (We've had the keyboard issue as well, but fixed that with a registry change that's deployed by GP) Thanks
