Sounds like a Harry Potter title doesn't it. We have used NetSupport School 9 quite happily here for a while now. But recently some of the teachers have had thier laptops upgraded to nice shiny widescreens. One of them (the first of many I would imagine) has come to us about the fact that when he shows his screen using the show function on all the client workstations (4:3 TFT monitors), part of the screen is lost and you need to to scroll to see it. I can't find a setting anywhere to "scale image to client" Anyone know a work around? Dave

Is it possible to do this for an image on a network share. Without using messy scripts of packages?

I had a similar problem to this with a Lenovo thinkpad. I used some software called nLite, to create a windows installation disk with the drivers intergrated. nLite - Deployment Tool for the bootable Unattended Windows installation Give it a go, its pretty self-explanitory

As a big PES fan I would love to try it on the wii. But would hate to buy a console and then find its unplayable.

I'm pretty sure they are totally unrelated. The football manager that is out now, is a continuation of the Championship Manager series after 2004. At this point the developers "SI Games" split with distributers "Eidos". In the "divorce" Eidos kept the name, and SI kept the database - I think SI purely then just used the name, Football Manager as it seemed uncomplicated. Great game. Only game's I play nowadays are that and Counter-Strike

Is it just me that feels guilty taking money for this off of freinds, family and collegues? I also don't like doing it, whenever I visit home my dad gets me to look at either his pc, or my aunties. Now he's a BT Engineer, should I get him to look at mine and my neighbours phone lines whenever he visits me.

Why not try and get paid to do it? even if its just a junior position. Thats how I started out, Having only a hnc in computing.

My first home computer was a Commodore plus/4 16. with an old tape drive. Then I went through Commodore 64, Amiga 600. Then I joined the PC using public with a P1 233 "WITH MMX!!" 32MB and windows 95, 2.1gb HDD. Which I later upgraded to Celeron 500mhz, 64MB and windows 98SE with an extra 6.4GB HDD.

If its just to try running virtual machines try a piece of software called VMWare. Server virtualisation, I don't have a clue if it is any different or not?

Good luck, If you have applied for the job that I am thinking, its a very good school. My parents live a couple of miles away, and I once took the exams to try and go there!

I think they employ 15yo's if you can obtain permission paperwork from school and home (a green slip?) But you can only work 8 hours a week i think

Woolworths & McDonalds. McDonalds always need new staff. And like any job, its what you make it. Most people that hate it, do so because they go in with the wrong attitude. If you go in with a positive attitude you will enjoy yourself.

Ok everyone, thanks for your responces. Thinking outside the box now (quite literally) Is there such a device that can accept the wake on lan signal and activate a trip switch? Perhaps it sits inline of the power supply and cat 5, and as a wake on lan signal passes through with its MAC, it activates the power?

Its ok, they replaced him with a newer, more hip model!

I am pretty sure its managed by the mainboard. If the mainboard can't interpret a request to turn on by the NIC, it won't work. And in that I think I may have answered my own question, and i'm therefore 99% sure this will not be possible (anyone know an answer in the 1%)

Probably going to get shot down in flames here. But we have a series of machines here which don't seem to support WOL natively through thier BIOS. Is it possible to allow this via a 3rd party utility, or are we going to have to replace the machines/mainboards?

In previous schools that I have worked at they have used a system called Schoolcomms. Never really played with it tho, but I know it has that facility

We have an issue with a load of machines with this setup. They won't load from the network to load a ghost boot image. It gets to the message "Transferring Image File..." and then hangs. I have loaded the latest BIOS and flashed the CMOS Any ideas?

Does it come with a air stand and air amp? Also, does it go up to 11?
