Hi all One school i just took over today have a image from 1709! They reimage then do update etc. I was thinking to apply image to a VM, put it back to workgroup, apply windows updates, software updates then do a capture. Would that work? The previous company have removed the softwares folder, so currently will take time getting licenses for likes of smart notebook and numerous others. It will be a temp solution as we have around 30 devices to reimage by Tuesday!

Hi all Not sure if this is right place for this post - Apologies in advance if it is I have setup papercut cloud printing for chromebooks and all works ok. I have only published follow me printing. But in the chromebook i can see all other printers too which i have not published. Only 2 has the icon mobility print. Others seems to not have them. Is there a way we can remove those printers? As dont want staff/students to print via those, only follow me printers Thanks

I think, i found reason, i created teams group from the teams admin portal. I tried creating a test classroom within teams as administrator and there i got option to create class. I didnt in the admin side. Maybe this is reason, can i convert my teams to class?

Yep they are owners in the teams group and are part of teachers group like other staff are

Hi all I have come to attention that new staff are unable to set assignments from teams for their new class. Existing staff can do it ok. I have checked permissions, group and all seems ok. Do i need to check anything specific that i have missed obvious?

Thanks guys, i have made list of things to check out and will do that when i on site on thursday at that school. Last option is reimage which i want to avoid but have no choice if things don't work. As both are admin users,. reception and business manager i want to avoid reimage.

Yep i even tried logging in myself and tried setting up my outlook but had same thing, so seems liek something with machine than User profile. The internet icon is also a globe icon than the 2 monitors. PC thinks there is no internet but there is internet.

they have changed password and it has gone through ok, changed it within outlook. Been like this for few weeks now

Hi all Have 2 users whose outlook just does not want to connect. get below error "We are unable to connect right now, please check network and try again later" For that users, have done full windows updates, dns flush, updated office, but no joy. Works fine when on outlook.com website just not via outlook the exact error is shown in this site https://supertekboy.com/2022/05/14/office-activations-fails-we-are-unable-to-connect-right-now/ anyone seen this? only issue for 2 users, many others use it and works fine for them. whats weird is randomly on some days it works and then goes again!

Hi all we are getting many users on phone chewing up our DHCP ip addresses I am considering creating new WLAN for phones and using ruckus build in DHCP. Is this possible for having one WLAN to use built in DHCP and other WLAN for the normal DHCP? When i went to settings it says if a dhcp server does not exist on your network you can select this function. What i dont want is the other WLANS to break we have ZD 3050 thanks

Hi all I had reimaged some Laptops few weeks ago using MDT and noticed few machines have bitlocker prompt randomly! No hardware has been changed so not sure reason but where can i find bitclocker key? i can see on some laptops the text file on root of C: Can i tweak MDT so it saves the file on server somewhere?

Hi all We had target tracker deployed from our old file server via GPO. Few weeks ago we deployed the update via GPO. Noticed its uninstalling the old one and is failing as the MSI is pointing to the old file server. As result the new install is failing. Is there way round this than manual install?

Hi all one school i support is moving to LGFL Wondered what changes do we as IT needs to do on our end? anything on the switches? DHCP/DNS? or do they just come setup their router and plug the internet cable to our core switch and all live? Thanks

Hi all We are trying to get room booking working at our school. Was working fine before but we changed servers and upgrade to server 2022 so stopped working. See below MIP request I am not sure how LGFL added the 171 ip address as that wasnt in our MIP request and it is not our NAT address too Apart from LGFL is there anything else we need to do as we keep getting LDAP error when we do test from room booking test side. Anything in DNS?

Hi all I have a headteacher at one school that wants all emails in a shared mailbox to go to her inbox to save her going down and opening the shared mailbox inbox... Few staff have access to this shared mailbox, my query is, if i create a rule to move mails to inbox, would that mean other staff wont have access to the mails if those mails are moved? Is there a way round this? thanks

Hi all what is quickest way to roll back DNS changes made yesterday?

I can ping the host no issue there I have just changed to known host, deployed the app to devices but when i go to print something, i do see all printers there but not seeing the paper icon printer? I can see the papercut app mobility print is deployed on the device. I have only 2 printers published.

Yep getting X for both vlans I have checked and seem to be all added. I even tried running the CMD line again and getting errors that record already exists so thats 2 confirmations

Hi all Trying to setup Mobility print so users can print on chromebooks Current setup 2 Hyper V hosts with replication enabled between both. Have enabled Mobility print, installed on server, allowed 2 printers (follow me colour and BW to be published) Under discovery options, I have configured DNS with our windows domain name and below ip address/netmask 10.243.204.238/255.255.252.0 (10.243.204.0) 10.243.200.8/255.255.255.252 (10.243.200.8) I got the code and pasted to CMD on DNS server and seemed to went through ok. Under verify DNS records I am getting Red crosses One thing to note is we do have multiple VLANS/subnets but all our windows and Wi-Fi devices are all in the 10.243.204.0 network and the other one I mentioned above is server Vlan. I feel I am doing something wrong in DNS but not sure what? Any ideas?
