Very interesting, finally a solution to bridging the desktop and cloud if this works as promised. Microsoft have had long enough to get something similar in place with OneDrive but still no joy, seems Google have stolen a march on them with this.

The Azure side is called Site Recovery: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/services/site-recovery/ From what I remember you pay a fairly minimal fee to replicate the VMs up there in a powered-off state and changes are replicated. If disaster strikes and you lose all your hosts you spool up in the cloud but obviously cost attached. However if you offset that against the cost of more hardware, separate server rooms etc. and chances of the worst happening it may well work out more cost-effective.

On-site Hyper-V with replication to Azure seems a nice hybrid setup at the moment. You can use hyper-converged hosts with SSD acceleration to avoid the SAN issues too.

Was always going to happen to a lot of these storage startups, how many are left standing on their own now?

@IAMCloud_Leon we're on Centrify Identity Service at the moment but if you make it SAML \ WS-Fed compatible it should then work with any hosted SSO provider e.g. OneLogin, Okta etc.

Still waiting for these "Modern" Team Sites in my tenant, has anyone got them? https://blogs.office.com/2016/08/31/new-capabilities-in-sharepoint-online-team-sites-including-integration-with-office-365-groups/ @EduTech any ideas when we're meant to get these new features? Roadmap has had them in "Rolling Out" phase for ages now.

Education on the machines I've done so far but seems split down the middle between that and LTSB from other people I've talked to.

All up and running, put the second session host in end of last week @Tefters ended up going with RD Web Access via Azure AD App Proxy then had to put the RD Gateway through the firewall. Seems if RD Gateway goes via Azure App Proxy you lose the UDP functionality and graphics performance suffers, hope MS look into that at some point.

We're stuck with it on our Win7 machines as exams software requires it. Could prove interesting if we go to Win10 and they're still using the same e-volve platform as they're very particular about which Flash version is supported.

@Blue_Cookeh if you get a moment could you check your GPO settings please? The MBAM settings seem to be Computer-based and I always thought Loopback only works the other way i.e. applying Per User stuff to Computers

@Blue_Cookeh No just plain Windows BitLocker. MDOP had a stupid per device licensing policy last time I looked at it, which for 3000 machines came out as a significant cost. How many are you licensing it for or does it come under FTE count now? Did also hear MDOP was included with Windows 10 on Software Assurance so not sure if that changes the situation for Win7 on EES bearing in mind we get downgrade rights. Would much prefer a native GPO, really poor that it wasn't included as standard imo. @FN-GM yeah that should do it, it seems you can still format the drive with force encrypt set to 1 but you can't put any files on it without BitLocker enabled.

@FN-GM click to enlarge Each one has an item-level targeting setting applied so the BitLocker only gets enabled for a specified group. So effectively a per-User GPO sets HKLM level policies via the GPP.

That's how MS RDWeb should look in Server 2016, mind boggles that we have to buy additional products to get a decent client experience. Also interested to hear how much you're paying for AccessNow.

We did our 2007 > 2013 upgrade as a self-service deployment for users and told them to do it over lunch break. We use a product called ZENworks for ours but Arthur's method above looks like it does the same kind of process.
