If you see above I also get the exact same on a fresh iis7 server 2008r2 install. Third time lucky!!! Will ask my tech to install it on a fresh Vm of server 2008r2 Is there anything else I can try? They have no antivirus and are fully patched. Thanks for the help. I know I would get a new unknown error!!!

Hi, My first install was on a Server 2012 VM.. This all went quite well after chasing down different IIS8 errors, but i finally gave up when the sytles didnt seem to be loading.... So i thought this may be an IIS8 problem. I then created another VM, this time Server 2008 R2..iis 7.5 Its done exactly the same as before If i try to load: https://home.xxxxxxx.local/hap/style/basestyle.css - it fails with a popup saying: INTERNET EXPLORER Unable to download basestyle.css from home.xxxxx.local OK Then if i try again with f5 it then offers it the file to download. On the server 2012 install if i try this on the localhost it sometimes loads but i have a red X in "Services Activated" On the server 2008 install i just cant get it to look correct, setup page loads the whole page instead of if being split up into sections. I have commented out the ".svg" line and this got the images and some of the sytle loaded. Any suggestions please? Must be something silly im doing! 1 week later, 31 new machines imaged. No problems as of yet. If anyone else has problems maybe: check event logs on all DCs, find the dc with the addition errors. Check the rid allocation pool.

Hi, I am looking as a project for the summer to setup a managed cloud-space for students and staff. Some staff have asked for their own dropbox accounts to be used in school etc but i need a managed solution. I have looked into OwnCloud and even setup our own but want to go a step further. I am looking for a solution (doesn't have to be owncloud) that can possibly forfill the followIng: 1) The content needs to be managed in-house - doesn't need to be stored in-house as long as we can make sure the content is appropriate. 2) Their cloud storage can be mapped as a network drive - if webdav, can this be scripted? LDAP etc? We cant/dont want students to have to enter their credentials. 3) They can save directly to their cloud space (again without logging in) from Office 2013. Any suggestions please? Anyone already set this up? Sharepoint, OwnCloud, Google docs, 365, HAP?

Thanks Arthur, I dont remember if im honest. I just remember that the hardware ID was exactly as it was in the Boot.wim error. I didn't look at the compatible IDs. I will get it installed manually and have another look. Thanks agaain

Ive imported the driver and reading this guide, when i "Check the hardware ID of the imported driver and ensure that it matches the error from earlier." i find it doesnt. MDT 2012: Missing network drivers during LTI boot | Scriptimus Ex Machina I get all the Hardware IDs listed in the inf file. Mines not there. Guess a USB install will have to do!

Hi Arthur, Cheers for thebreply, well thats the driver ID that is given to me by Mdt when it fails. It is also the hardware ID that I see when veiwing the NIC in device manager (after manual install). That driver also installs perfectly even though the hardware id isnt listed in the inf. Should I still check with that tool? Thanks

When looking in the inf. file I cant find : PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_11C01734&REV_06 Does this mean it will still error? I guess so as i have tried plenty of drivers inc the realtec website ones.

Hi, We have three Fujitsu E400 E85`s. They dont have the NIC Drivers by OEM.. Simple enough, get the drivers from Fujitsu and inject them with MDT.. I downloaded and tested that the driver worked. But then after injecting the driver it then still complains: A connection to the deployment share......blah blah The following networking device did not have a driver installed PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_11C01734&REV_06 Ive looked at the inf for the driver and that hardware ID isn't listed in the driver??? Ive searched for a driver with this inf and yet to find one. Ive tried altering the inf. to include it but no luck. Ive tried manually injecting the driver with the DSIM command. (Driver is the Realtek "rt64win7") Does anyone please have a suggestions? Only three PCs but i would rather know how to do this? Thanks

Ive not tested this but Im pretty sure its sorted. If anyone else has anything like this here is what I did: First i narrowed it down to the RID, DC2 was giving out old SIDs of computer accounts so i read up on RID allocation. I found the following command that will give RID information of each DC. I ran it on each DC and got the following: dcdiag /v /test:ridmanager Results were: DC2: Starting test: RidManager * Available RID Pool for the Domain is 16603 to 1073741823 * DC4.{school}.local is the RID Master * DsBind with RID Master was successful * rIDAllocationPool is 15103 to 15602 * rIDPreviousAllocationPool is 13603 to 14102 * rIDNextRID: 13641 DC3 Starting test: RidManager * Available RID Pool for the Domain is 16603 to 1073741823 * DC4.{school}.local is the RID Master * DsBind with RID Master was successful * rIDAllocationPool is 15603 to 16102 * rIDPreviousAllocationPool is 15603 to 16102 * rIDNextRID: 15639 DC4 Starting test: RidManager * Available RID Pool for the Domain is 16603 to 1073741823 * DC4.{school}.local is the RID Master * DsBind with RID Master was successful * rIDAllocationPool is 16103 to 16602 * rIDPreviousAllocationPool is 16103 to 16602 * rIDNextRID: 16122 As you can see on DC2 the next available RID for allocation is 13641 (scroll the code box down to see the rIDNextRID). This isnt located in the allocation pool that the DC has been given (15103 to 15602). So, i simply Demoted it and then dcpromo`ed again.. Now if i run the command again: Starting test: RidManager * Available RID Pool for the Domain is 17103 to 1073741823 * DC4.{school}.local is the RID Master * DsBind with RID Master was successful * rIDAllocationPool is 16603 to 17102 * rIDPreviousAllocationPool is 16603 to 17102 Ive rejoined a few machines back to the domain that got removed and no system event errors as of yet fingers crossed. We will see in the morning!

I think i have found the culprit!! When we join a machine to the domain it knocks a computer account off the domain! There are two or more objects that have the same SID attribute in the SAM database. The Distinguished Name of the account is CN=TESTXPMACHNIE,CN=Computers,DC=XXXXX,DC=local. All duplicate accounts have been deleted. Check the event log for additional duplicates. There are two or more objects that have the same SID attribute in the SAM database. The Distinguished Name of the account is CN=S15-03,OU=Student_Machines,OU=PCs_School_Rooms_S15,OU=PCs_School_Rooms,OU=PCs_SCHOOL,OU=PCs,DC=XXXXXX,DC=local. All duplicate accounts have been deleted. Check the event log for additional duplicates. Now that I have found the reason why, now to find the cause!! At least I know my AD structure isnt crumbling for no reason

Thanks for this. I already created/requested a new cert with server authentication I now have two both from the CA. I read that it uses the cert with the latest expiry date so wasn't going to delete the original ssl? Little bit concerned about deleting the first one as it also has other roles. Also using the ldap tool I can connect correctly to the DC? Any other suggestions please?

Thanks, Normal deployment is working a treat. Its just when we try to use the multicast method it falls over. I will edit the above post to make it clearer

Hi, Our MDT server is a hyper-V install of 2008. the host has limited space for storage. We have a fast storage DAS server with plenty of space. So in seeing that the deployment share could be located on an external share we moved this onto our NAS. This is working perfectly. But when we tick the "Multicast option" the first problem is that it asks for a local path for the deployment share... obviously we cant do this as it is located on another server. If we create an empty local folder and share it as "deploymentshare$" we get the following errors. Extremely helpful as part of it is in chinese! Error Code: 0xC1100106 Error Description: The Windows Deployment Services Transport Server role service has not been configured on the server. 䔊楸⁴潣敤㴠ⴠ〱㔵ㄹ㜵〷 Unable to create multicast namespace "deploymentshare$", rc = -1055915770. Has anyone else managed to multicast using a deploymentshare located on a different server? We currently have 3 x DC 2 x new 2012 and one 2003 that I am in the process of removing. All our photocopiers use an Ldap connection to scan to a users mailbox. They can start to type a name and clicking search will search AD and give them a list of names etc. I have simply changed the LDAP server from DC1 to DC3 (2012 dc) and it now fails. Cannot make a connection. All firewalls are off. The server has an ssl from our CA. Can anyone please suggest what may be different with 2012 please? Thanks in advance

Thanks arthur... Sometimes (probably most of the time) they will need to save normally. Its just when using the intranet and Worcestershires Gateway site that they need to OPEN and edit directly then save... Are you sure that this doesnt download it first then automaticaly open it from that new saved location? If not this would be great if i could set it automatically open from certain websites? i.e. the 2 listed above.

Hi, We are looking to move to chrome but ion testing one of the features we need and use in IE is when we click a link (mainly intranet, e.g. "X:\Wordfile.docx") IE brings up the option to open, save or cancel. So far I have only seen that Chrome can just Save it THEN open it from that new saved location. We need to have "Open" so that if any changes are made and then the document is saved it updates its original location. Has anyone seen this option somewhere please have had a good look anbd google! Thanks for the reply.. The Reception computer disappeared from the domain at around 10am. I used the following command to view the details. repadmin /showmeta "CN=RECEPTION\0ADEL:30a71625-ad56-4910-aaa1-c50cceb294ca,CN=Deleted Objects,DC={school},DC=local" dc4 and got among other results... Default-First-Site-Name\DC2 53209194 2013-05-07 09:27:08 1 isDeleted So It would appear that DC2 deleted the account at 9:27am.... Im leaning towards the multiple GUID accounts now that have occured when brining back the old hardware and swapping HDDs over.... I think i am going to rejoin these 6 and keep an eye on it. Hi, Over the last couple of months we have had a few computer accounts deleted from AD. I at fist thought this may have been a mistake by one of the team etc. I simply took the workstations off the domain and back on and problem solved. BUT recently we have had this happen again. Today we had 6 machines disappear from AD. I have checked and they were actually deleted as they are in the CN=Deleted Objects container. Not too long ago we added 2 additional 2012 DCs (DC3&DC4) to our current 2 x 2003R2 DCs.... When I was happy with the FSMO roles and replication etc I then dcpromo`ed and demoted one of the 2003 DCs. (other still to do) I have checked replication with dcdiag /V and all is fine on all three servers. I was wondering if anyone else had seem anything like this before? I get Events "The session setup from computer 'LC1-18' failed because the security database does not contain a trust account 'LC1-18$' referenced by the specified computer." One other possibility is last week we took out several machines from the store to replace identical faulty machines. I simply swapped the working HDD and put it into the old machines. I was careful not to power up the machine with the old HDD in as i know (from experience!) that this then causes the account to be disabled... (but not deleted) As a third suggestion when i setup the new 2012 DCs i also redid the DNS scavenging.... possibly related? Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any suggestions in-case this maybe gets any worse? Thanks in advance!

Hi, Im sorry but I dont have any help for you with you authentication problems but we are in exactly the same situation as you! Using Devizes room bookig and moving from 2003r2 DCs up to 2008/2012. We are trying to set it up in IIS 8 on server 2012 (I think very similar to iis 7) and we are struggling!!! I know that this is a lot to ask, but following the instructions on the IIS6 setup just do not make any sense to us on IIS7 we are really scratching our heads and failed miserably.! Is there any chance that you could do a IIS 7 installation walk-through in setting it up for us please? Maybe if we both have it running I can then see if we experience the same authentication problems that you do? Here are the original instructions: Booking System Web Site. 1:Copy the "Active" folder from the zip file to the root of your web server. We copied the folder to "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Active"? 2:Copy the database "Data Bases" folder to a directory on your web server - DONE 3: Using notepad, open the file DatabasePath.asp - DONE 4: Using notepad, Edit ModuleSettings.asp - DONE 5. Open Internet Information Services Manager (admin tools in the control panel on the server) Right click on the Active folder and select Properties. There is no propertis.. lost from her on! 6) Click on the Create button 7) Click on Configuration and select the options tab. Inshore the "Enable parent paths box is ticked as below".- Cant find this anywhere! 8) If the server is part of a windows domain select Directory security - Assume this is the same?
