Hi We are using Sims behaviour in school, and up until now we have always produced reports based on a COUNT of the number of behaviour concerns a pupil has, and our behaviour specialist call up lists of selected types of behaviour, for instance ignoring the concerns that are purely about a pupil forgetting equipment. We have recently decided to use the points system, allocating a greater number of points for harsher behaviour types to collate a better picture of the behaviour or students, however this is causing me some difficulty producing a report of this. I have a report that shows me the total points, in a date range, but when I run it it produces a different row for every behaviour instance a pupil has, so each pupil appears multiple times, and when i ran the report for a form class I received 2100 entries, when all I wanted was each pupil to appear once, with the total points for that time for both behaviour and achievement. Anyone got any ideas how I can do this? I can send/upload the exported report if that helps someone look at it - or i am happy to use a report someone else has created, if someone was so kind. (Couldn't attach as the file extension is not allowed) Thanks Ieuan

THANKS - although you make a fair point - we have this already and its very hard for some teachers to have eyes everywhere and we used to like the fact a student counld notify that they were struggling with one area, move onto another while waiting for help, and the teacher moves around all the students struggling systematically, rather than the pupils sitting waiting with their hand up doing no work!

Hi We used to use the RM Tutor classroom management system which had a feature which allowed students to notify the teacher if they required help by clicking a button on the task bar, and then a notification appeared on the teachers machine. We now use ABTutor, which doesnt have this feature, but I wondered if anyone knew of a stand-alone solution that would give me this ability. Potentially a program that could run on all out machines and link to a tutor machine. We are running Windows 7 on Sever 2003 (hoping to upgrade to Server 2008 very soon) Thanks

Hi I'm trying to create a list of exclusions, listing all students who have been excluded this year and the total number of days exclusions. I have created a report listing the exclusions and can list a count of the number of exclusions, with each exclusions listing the total days per exclusion but cant see how I add in the total days that student has had. I hope someone can help. or show me a report that does this. thanks Ieuan

Oh right, in that case does anyone have a suggestion of a way we can record this in any simple way, for instance we can produce letters for all students with a certain number of achievements each week in a mail merge in a few clicks, we would like it recorded that these letters were sent?

Hi I am working with out pastoral support team, and have been asked to a behaviour intervention to multiple students. For instance they want to add to Sims.net that students with attendance lower than 90% have all received phone calls or letters home. This may be a list of 50 students and it would be convenient to select all of the students and add the intervention date. We are using it to add individual interventions, but I cant see a bulk option? This would save alot of time. Thanks

Hi We are using the Sims Behaviour Module, and each day we output our behaviour incidents via a Group report into separate form classes in a word template. This works well however the lists are not sorted by name, and when i try to access the sort section it only allows me to sort by group properties and 'Student Name' isnt listed. Can anyone help me out how to do this? Thanks Ieuan

[sims] Sims Homepage Graphs for User-Defined Groups
ieuanprice replied to ieuanprice's topic in MIS Systems
Thanks for this, I shall stop trying for now then and await the new look in March -
Hi We've been using the graphs on the Sims.net homepage to show Attendance and Achievement and Behaviour breakdowns for 'Group Type' Whole School / Year Group / Reg Group / Houses but I have some 'User-defined Groups' that I'd like to show this information for. Potentially 'Watch Students' for behaviour and also 'Poor Attenders'. Any ideas if this is possible? We're using Sims.net 7.148 Thanks

[sims] Sims Report Template editing in Word 2010 - unable to access Fields
ieuanprice replied to ieuanprice's topic in MIS Systems
Thanks for that - i found changing the macros to low allowed it to make an 'add-in' toolbar on my ribbon -
Hi We're using Sims 7.148 and I am trying to edit an RTF report template. When using a machine with Office 2003 the template opens perfectly and I can access the fields to add into the document as I wish. Works perfectly. However when i edit the same RTF template on a machine with Office 2010 on the template opens, but I cant access the fields to add them - the mailmerge toolbar on the ribbon doesn't think the document has fields. Any suggestions - I am frustrated with having to change machines to make simple changes. Thanks
