I've just taken on Exams Officer role in an International School which uses iSAMS as it's IMS. They currently do not use iSAMS for anything to do with exams as I've been told historically it did not support one of our exam boards properly. I'm currently waiting for our iSAMS Client Code so that I can create a support account and actually look through documentation. In the meantime I was wondering what other peoples experience with iSAMS for exam use is and if the following are supported - Cambridge International Education (CIE) exam board - Seating plans for both internal mock and actual exams Thanks for any help, much appreciated!

We hire a bus from a local company to provide transport for students. We just charge standard student bus fare payable either on bus or weekly pass via Parent Pay.

The A1 around Rutland is hell for this, blind approach (trees in the way) then 20m of sliproad, neither the cars on the A1 nor the cars on the sliproad can see each other until the last few seconds. Who designs things like that!

I'll echo LeMarchand, we have 1-2-1 laptops for teaching staff and damage is the number one problem. We get through a fair number of damaged keyboards, screens, LOTS of chargers. We don't have docking stations so damage to video and audio cables in rooms is also an issue, 3.5mm jack snapped off in laptop, VGA cable been mashed in upside down... Course we'd only get the laptops from the cold dead hands of the teachers as it's much more convenient for doing work at home (and not having to login from fresh in each room)

According at the Snopes page (Beef Tallow In New £5 Notes? : snopes.com) the Bank of England had to investigate to determine if the notes contained animal products, were they even aware that it was a possibility before the FoI request was issued? The company which provides the pellets (Innovia Security) does so to 24 countries, I guess all of these contain Tallow, wonder how many knew until now? I also wonder why, as there are vegetarian alternatives, Innovia chose to use tallow in them?

With the look of it Australian, New Zealand, and Canadian (and likely everywhere else using polymer) notes also include tallow, as do various other products (plastic bags for example).

With the exception of where special circumstances dictate staff only have read access to student files here for all the reasons already listed. We have made an exception for students who are highly visually impaired, staff can drop resources in to these students home directories which have been modified for their learning requirements.

Unless you have witnesses or the the front car is being a complete tool and breaks heavily with nothing in front of them it's rare for them to be found at fault as the following vehicle 'should have left safe distance'. My Dad had a nightmare proving he wasn't to blame as rear driver, did in the end but was a lot of messing around. My wife and I got an Articulated lorry to the rear while stationary at traffic lights at the start of the summer break, car written off but still waiting for insurance payout over 6 weeks later.

We tried that, worked for a while then levels crept back up again, in the end the head told us to restrict it.

We had similar occur a while ago and our all-staff distribution list is restricted as certain staff used to send EVERYTHING to it. 1) A member of staff e-mailed both all-staff and the helpdesk 2) The helpdesk software (Spiceworks) replied back to both the sender and all-staff. 3) Sadly for Spiceworks the helpdesk e-mail account didn't have permission to send to all-staff so it got a bounce back notification. 4) Spiceworks thought the bounce-back was a response so it added it to the ticket and notified all parties (the original sender and all-staff) that the ticket had updated. 5) Go to step 3 until the ticket length reached the maximum (around 600 e-mails I think) at which point it sulked. The Helpdesk e-mail account now has permission to send to all-staff.

Food here is usually pretty good and they vary the main meals of the day quite a bit, e.g. in the last week we have had: Chicken Chasseur, Beef Goulash, Braised Stuffed peppers, Lamb Kleftiko, Moussaka, Liver & Bacon with Mash, and Roast pork with stuffing & apple sauce.

I've heard the reason behind that is that in some countries it is illegal to show harm to children (including unborn ones) so children and pregnant women are invincible, to counter this they are unable to fight. But even if this is the case there are some costumes that are gender specific for some reason and some of the female versions of other outfits are a bit, well, revealing compared to the male counterpart.
