About Shaner88

  1. If you copy and paste the tag for the name from the message box into the header it should work
  2. I seem to remember the solution was to make sure the student's name is in the subject line in the inTouch template so that it recognises that the emails are different
  3. They aren't results files, they are basedata files which only contain the various basedata structures. Results files start with R and then your centre number and exam board number
  4. Don't actually open the classroom staff record. Just select it from the browse screen in Manage Classroom Staff so that it is highlighted, then click on the "Remove" icon at the top and select "Remove all assignability"
  5. Go to Focus --> Person --> Manage Classroom staff. You can remove staff codes for leavers provided the code is not used on the timetable in the current academic year
  6. Make a copy of the file, name it appropriately, and then go to the 'Auto' screen. Tag all the blocks and then select 'Unbuild'. Send this file across to SIMS. This will remove all the classes from the teachers timetables, but still enable academic management etc. It isn't perfect, in that if you make marksheets or have existing marksheets for the new classes, teachers will be able to see them. Also if they look themselves up in SIMS and select Staff groups from the links panel and change the effective date, then they will be able to see their classes, but it does work well to hide the groups from most staff
  7. You just need to download the new PP file from the DfE (via K2S) and import it. The PP flag needs to be updated each year via this method. You can then manually search for any new Yr7 students data via the search function on K2S as well
  8. As pete says it depends on how many centre numbers (the 5 digit one) you have and if the same students exist in both SIMS databases. If you have different students in both databases and two centre numbers, then you should be able to use Exams as normal If you have different students in both databases and one centre number, then you may be able to use Exams but you would need to be really careful about whether your files were Entries or Amendments, and you would only receive one results file, not two.
  9. The academic year should run from 01/09/2015 - 30/08/2016. The "working academic year" is defined by the date range on the first export of the timetable from Nova T6 for the new academic year. So it will depend on the date range that the timetabler used. AFAIK this cannot be retrospectively changed without deleting the entire new year from SIMS and starting again from scratch.
  10. The DfE have changed their methodology this year and seem to be aligning it towards the Progress 8 methodology. They describe it all in the manual in the RAISE library.
  11. I seem to remember reading somewhere on supportnet before that in the underlying coding for the NITE formula the colouring is associated with the text and so if there is no text to be displayed, there will be no colour displayed. I have just used a full stop or comma as the text in the past when I have wanted to do colouring like this.
  12. If the lesson didn't exist in September, then Academic Management won't let you move their start date back to then, as the lesson did not exist in the timetable at that time. I'm not sure if there is a way around it other than altering the dates in Nova, but that is not recommended as it will mess with all the other changes that have been made since the start of the year.
  13. Ah right, you mean pastoral promotion. Yes it should do, if you want to check just go open up a random student in year 7, under the registration panel click on the history button and then at the top of the box that pops up, change the academic year to next year and see what it says. It should show them in the next year group and relevant reg group for next year. It should all just roll over on the day that SIMS has been told the new academic year starts.
  14. Hi, It won't promote them automatically. If you go into Curriculum Assignment by Scheme, select the relevant scheme and click on "Allocate" and then "Curriculum Promotion Wizard", it will guide you through the process. The mappings are what SIMS then uses to put the students in the relevant classes for next year, once you run the promotion wizard on each scheme.
