LanTopolog from https://www.lantopolog.com/ has proved very useful in troubleshooting.

[ltsb, 1607] Best (and easiest) way to clone a Windows 10 HDD to SSD
kjadams replied to Koldov's topic in Windows 10
I used Sea Tools from seagate as that was the make of one of the drives in the cloning process. Only took about 10 minutes to clone, took longer to physically swap the drives over. -
Which updates did you remove @DaveP?

Our staff are already added to the local administrators group. I’ll try deleting their local profile but don’t think that will help me as I am logging in to random computers that my test users would not have logged on to before.

Windows 10 users do not appear to be affected. It’s happening to both staff and students alike.

Some users are not getting a desktop or task bar at all. They can either get a blue, black or our default wallpaper and nothing else. If they do get a desktop with icons, it can just be C:\ and their own home drive. Additional network drives are not being presented. May it be the same issue as yours but coincidentally started around the same time as yours.

We have been having similar issues since Friday afternoon. Explorer.exe is not starting after logon. Logging off is also an issue. Have marked Windows Updates 4503277, 4502560 and 4503864 for removal via WSUS. Fingers crossed.

I think someone else should win as I am kind and generous, just like VeryPC.

We fixed this issue by adding schoolname.cpoms.net to our Chrome GPO. Setting located at User Configuration > administrative templates > google > google Chrome > safe browsing settings > configure the list of domains on which Safe Browsing will not trigger warnings.

Got mine today as well. Great timing as I think I have used up my supply of awesomeness!

We are in the process of having RM Unify setup for us and wanted to know other people’s experiences with the process. The first stage of Federating between Progresso, AD and RMU went OK but we have not really tested the user provisioning side of it yet. The next phase is to Federate against our G-Suite tenancy and to be honest this is filling us with dread. We are a MAT and to some part we have set up our G-Suite to reflect this. Our G-Suite has 2 domains, 1 of which is a secondary domain. We have a lot of users (Governors and Trustees etc.) that have a G-Suite accounts that we feel do not need RMU accounts. If we Federate, it appears that both Domains will be Federated and the logon process to their Team Drives etc. will be redirected to RMU to change passwords. A lot of our users are technically challenged and we are concerned how smooth the process will be for them. As a school, we also use Google Classroom a lot. How is the logon process handled once we are Federated against G-Suite? How did Federation against G-Suite go for other schools and did your users manage it OK?

We had similar issues in the past. Ended up replacing the controller module on the rear of the board.

Hi Caffrey, I did try it quickly today and it failed to run. Our exam laptops run a basic XP locked down using SteadyState. Worked well for us for many years but some students are even struggling to save the text file to the only location available to them.

Does it work in XP?

Try adding a \ after ${documents}\chrome. I have actually just turned this off as staff bookmarks were not getting saved.

Hope there is not a sale on, or people will be flocking to buy them.

Hey, I’m planning on having a barbecue next week. Where’s the best place to get Skuas from?
