  1. Success on first try... playing Transocean made it peace of cake
  2. you need to add the out of bounds hotfixes into your WSUS server via the Windows Update Catalogue, then SCCM will deploy it out to stations
  3. If we are sending data that is part of the DLP settings in Office 365, the message is automatically set to be encrypted so it does not actually leave our server, and the recipient gets either gets a message requesting to click the link to view the message if they are using Outlook Client/Other mail app (OWA automatically shows the message with a no entry sign or padlock to show it's encrypted) Users can choose to encrypt the message when going externally via the options in the client, but it's not something we enforce as the bulk of the e-mail is not content that requires it at present.
  4. Nope, just like all motherboards, you need to check it supports the processor, as not all do. If you use PC Partspicker it will give you an idea of compatible components (https://uk.pcpartpicker.com) select a AMD 5900X as the CPU so you can look at what Motherboards/RAM it suggests, but still double check the specs on the suggested item as in the past some AMD boards required a bios upgrade before the newest CPU can be used with it. And if you got a 5900X for "only" £445, that is interesting as most places are either out of stock or north of £500 at the moment.
  5. humm had we been buying the DfE laptops ourselves, the models we got would unlikely have been thought of as they were so far below our minimum spec, but we didn't pay for them directly so no point in "what if" from our point of view. Just have lots of devices now sat there that won't get much use if/once things get back to normal
  6. I seem to have found 3 "Golden Tickets" without entering. Think the Oompa-Loompa's have been having fun again?
  7. A new onesie?
  8. EES is now for schools with over 100 staff, so you could well qualify now
  9. All our laptops (mainly the DfE ones) recently have been configured with AoVPN, but instead of device based we went for user based as we wanted forced tunnelling since most of the users are students so want them to get our filtering. Even with 30-40 users connected during lockdown on Teams, our connection speeds were fine for them. For staff going with Device based AoVPN would be easier and can be deployed via Powershell without needing InTune or MECM.
  10. I was just going to say this... he ate them before he finished unpacking the box (unless I nodded off, which was possible)
  11. We use SCCM/MECM to manage the WSUS authorisations, so it automatically approves updates based on the category and if it's not in our exclusion list (which 5000809 is). It also allowed us to easily create a script to run the DISM command to uninstall any offending updates to be removed from the workstations that gets run in the system context quite easily.
  12. Yea yea, thats not what you said on Discord last night
  13. Been using SchoolCloud since it came out last year (used the normal parents evening booking portion previously, so not much of a leap to move to it) Fact that it automatically ends the session at the end of the time is a major bonus to ensure all the appointments run to time. One of our other schools that used Teams ended up having to have a member of staff forcefully disconnect the meeting for some staff as they just kept on talking well after the 5 or 10 minute slot had run over by double the time. Yes we had the issue when the service dropped on 2 occasions (both Thursdays) but that only affected a small proportion of the slots, which we rescheduled for another day.
  14. For us, 802 was not the problem, it was only after 809 went on that our computers BSoD when printing to our Kyocera printers. Removing 809 on it's own and they were perfectly happy. the 2 subsequent out of bounds hotfix patches that have been released have resolved it all (at least we've had no screams about white lines so far this week since the 2nd hotfix went on)
  15. If it had been Nicole, it would have been a case of the Emperor's new socks which is why you can't see them
  16. For some office workstations/Loan laptops, we have a dedicated GPO policy to not clean up profiles, but otherwise Windows is set to delete them on logoff. Does mean students using Publisher or non Office applications and working on files need to remember to save their file and for it to sync with OneDrive before they click logoff, but they get the message after loosing a file or two
  17. we have it deployed, but as we delete profiles on logoff for most stations it's never been an issue
  18. Just adding 1648 into our WSUS now
  19. Be happy it doesn't come up on your DBR checks
  20. From where I'm sat it's actually an item that belongs to an Emperor who also liked invisible clothes maybe
  21. Come on, your a Dalek, you normally don't have to carry much, and when you do you can hang it off your plunger
  22. My Googlefu (ie just typing in the error code into google) says it's a "Toner Control Sensor Error"
  23. Well website now says over 50's so you'd kinda hope it knows
  24. It entitles you to full SQL on the same server as MECM is installed it, but did need downloading separately when we did it a few years back
  25. and it would still be a 500Mb file deployed via WSUS so..... Either have to keep clicking the check for updates, or install it manually/via deployment method
