Anyone using Redstor, could you give me your current pricing and what they base it on? I heard it was quite cheap, but when the quote came through it is nothing like what anyone on here is saying. Should I get a second opinion? £1800 seems much more reasonable, but I'm not sure where I will get that pricing from. Do any of you have a specific vendor you have gone through to purchase your Redstor?

All I can say is that Unifi Cameras with an NVR are brilliant. The cameras are all PoE and you can adopt them easily. The system is fully accessible from the internet and has an app to view and access all of the cameras. You can set shortcuts to all the other cameras to make following a subject really easy. They have lots of different cameras to meet your needs and is very scalable. We have around 65 cameras covering our site, all in HD. You can set your own data retention periods for the footage, to meet your GDPR compliance. You can run them over your existing network, set them up in their own V-lans, download specific time stamped footage to a very high quality video, and easily go back in time on any camera. We were originally going to go with Hic vision, but due to the legal things going on with Chinese made networking equipment, we decided on Unifi, and haven't looked back. Extremely happy, bar the odd software update from Unifi that have made things less than ideal. Those updates are far and few though.

A bit over the 12 second mark, and it hasn't even been half of academic year yet. It is up and running again now, but for how long I don't know. Going to monitor for the rest of the day. This can't keep happening though, as it is too disruptive to a school's working day.

All together over 2 hours downtime today so far. Our account manager is Barry. He is usually quite good, but he is always off visiting schools and unable to get email in his autoreplies. I logged a call for this issue today and got a call back saying it was up again, only for it to go down again shortly after that call. Sigh. The wait is still on. Totally wrong time of day to be sorting this sort of problem out in my opinion. Should have the redundancy to prevent this sort of issue, even if it does cost a three bedroom home.

Hey all. I have a Meraki MX-90 security appliance and for the most part it is working great. However, I have come across a website that it can't block. https://sites.google.com/site/millseagles/home Have any of you had a similar experience and/or can you block this website using your filtering? If you can block it, what filtering method do you use and what appliance are you using? I tried lots of different combinations of Blocked URL wild cards with the Meraki technician, but it just wouldn't take it. They told me that it was to do with the certificate that google issues. Meraki use a certificate based webfilter to block https traffic. Google just issue a generic google certificate that applies to all of their sites, and if they were to block that certificate it would block all of the google sites and not just the one we need blocked. I have registered the website with Brightcloud and they reclassified it as games, but again, the Meraki is set to use top sites (1000 top websites) for the URL category list size and this website doesn't fall under that filter yet. You can turn on full filtering for the URL category list size, but they suggested I don't do that until they have implemented a firmware update sometime in this quarter. They said the full list option is a bit buggy and advised not to use it. So this might work, however, I'm not keen on implementing something that might make things worse.

Had the LEA people come in and went through the whole process, and low and behold they deviated from the instructions they wanted me to follow to get it installed. Also, as it was standalone install, it couldn't get the necessary patches to match our database data anyway. They had to supply the patches. They never sent me any patches to begin with, so I was scuppered from the get go. They still haven't sent the data for us to upload to the installation anyway. I still await it. Once we get it though, it should be no issue getting it into the system now. Thanks for all the help everyone.

I have a wireless network setup with multiple SSIDs for the past couple of years using a RADIUS server on two of the SSIDs that is on one of the DCs. My DCs are running Windows 2008 R2. Now I have checked the server for any event log saying that the RADIUS server has stopped working, but I have found nothing. The only thing I do know is that a certificate expired and it won't let me renew it. This happened the day before the two wireless SSIDs that authenticate via RADIUS stopped working. (it expired on a Sunday, and it wasn't working on Monday) I'm not sure how to recreate the certificate as I have never created a certificate before. Our last technician created the last certificate a couple of years ago. I'm not even sure what kind of certificate I would need to create or what to put in it. Even if I did recreate the certificate, I think it needs to talk to the NPS server somehow (or the NPS server needs to know where it is somehow). I can't find anywhere in the NPS server where you tell it to look at X certificate to authenticate RADIUS clients. I'm not really sure why it didn't auto renew. I think it might not have been auto renewable. In the mean time I have created a new SSID and have it setup using normal WPA2 encryption with a shared key. I then have the server push this SSID out via Group Policy (using a logon script) to our computers for a temporary fix so that the PCs at least have a connection. Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about and might be able to help me renew my certificates and get my two SSIDs authenticating again?

Here is my problem. I have a small network at a primary of about 100 Windows 7 SP1 computers, running off a Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controller. There are roaming profiles setup for all of the users, except the administrators and students. The old ISP was the county councils provision, and all websites worked fine. I changed over the internet connection to the new provider, and any user with a roaming profile fails to load any Google related website. Non roaming accounts like the administrator or students seem to be fine. They use IE 9 as their default browser on all PCs. I have removed the use configuration script tick box out of the browser settings and also made sure that the use proxy tick box was also unticked. The DC is the DNS server and I have changed the forwarders there to point to the Google public DNS servers. When I log onto a roaming user account, any non Google website runs fine, but any Google website looks like it is going to load, but it stops and the screen is just white. No words explaining why it didn’t load. I turned on the F12 mode in the browser to see what it is doing when I try to load Google and under the result column it just says Aborted. From the user’s account I can open a command window and ping Google and it resolves just fine. Something to think about is I had recreated the head teachers account a few months ago, and her account seems to be able to access Google related websites. She was able to logon to gmail without issue. The only thing with her also is that she is using a laptop that was setup just over a month ago, where the other users are logging onto computers that have been setup for a couple of years. All computers are kept up to date via Windows Update from the server. I have searched for answers to this particular problem and most have said look at the Hosts file. I have checked this on a few PCs and it has no incorrect data. I thought I might just backup the user’s data from their user folder on the PC and delete it and see if it would make any difference by recreating the local profile, but as they are roaming profiles, the user folders have nothing in them, it pulls everything for the user from the server. I have a feeling it is something to do with the roaming profiles of the users, but I can’t quite put my finger on why that would be an issue. Anyone have any idea what I could do to get Google working again? We use a Meraki MX-80 security appliances as a firewall/router/content filter. Google is definitely not blacklisted. (otherwise the administrator and student accounts would be blocked too.) I don’t believe it is a virus or malware, just for the simple fact that any other website works fine and if I reconnect the old ISP all of the Google websites work fine. I am going to try to delete an account on the server tomorrow and see what happens when I recreate the user account and whether or not they will have access to Google after I do.

I'm having trouble installing a fresh install of SIMS Spring 2012 Release. I'm installing on a freshly installed and updated VM of Server 2008 R2 SP1. 2 Core Opteron, 12 GB of RAM. Everything runs fine up until I get to this point: It then sits at this point for about 45 minutes to an hour, then it comes up with two more messages: SIMS.net will open. You can log into it. However, you get an error message after login that says the Database isn't configured correctly and to run the database configurator. If you click ok to the message, SIMS.net will shut down. If you close the message by hitting the X on the message window, the message goes away and you can use SIMS.net. I can't figure out if is actually working correctly though. I don't think it is, because if you close it and open it again, it comes up with the same databse configuration error. Anyone have any idea why it won't configure the database correctly? The SQL version is what is installed by default by the SIMS installer, which is SQL Express 2008 R2.

I thought you said this software was going to be free? The only version that is free, really wouldn't be justified to use in a secondary school. Very disappointed.
