Has anyone gone down the line of migrating shared drives to the cloud? Specifically g suite. I get that I can use something like r clone to upload data but my question is more around the best method to share it back out? E.g. did you upload it all to a team drive called "shared drive" or something or did you split it into department shared drives etc? Struggling to get my head round that bit. Cheers

So if I just schedule that command to run each day it will just overwrite the files in the new location? Is there a way to set it to trigger another copy once the first has completed? E.g. wrap it all in a bat file? Thanks

I am going to be migrating the files on a QNAP NAS over to a windows NAS. I want to start the copying during term time and have it syncing any changes over each night for a little bit. Is there an application people would recommend for this? Ideally I want it to keep the permissions and only the latest version of the file overwriting any older versions. Cheers

Just tried preventing the welcome screen in chrome but the log in still appears when you make a new tab

We use Google Alerts for key word alerts like the school name and then just use tweet deck to monitor twitter. I live locally so am in most of the local gossip groups anyway and normally staff alert us as well.

Anyone know whether Google have any plans to make Google Drive File Stream log uses in automatically from their AD credentials or at least remember the credentials after they have logged in once even if moving computers? Thanks

Has Chrome updated to force this by default? We hadn't changed any settings for this or installed the new adm. Users since Monday are now being prompted to sign in every time they open a new tab. When looking at the GPO you just get Disable sign in, Enable sign in or force sign in. We don't want to prevent users signing in but we also don't want to force them at this stage. Thanks

Random question but EduGeek has always served me well. Does anyone on here know if there school funds their own minibus or school bus themselves on top of usual school buses funded by LEA? We are looking at it as a potential way of boosting numbers but are interested to see how other schools have funded it and run the service. Just noticed that since making this change emails working fine in edulink but some suppliers are reporting our work emails now going into their spam and some are bouncing back completely.

Been tempted to pick up a MS Surface Pro for £749. Liked the look for a while but they are quite pricey. Anything else anyone would consider for a portable machine similar to a surface?

When you guys use cloud backup do you backup your whole site? E.g. we have a NAS drive with shared folders on that is close to 3TB plus our servers probably totalling 5TB all together. My Shared drives NAS is causing me a real problem with the size it is and finding a reliable affordable way to back it up. Also, anyone know of a reliable way to sync something like 3TB to Google Drive as an option to start using that for our shared folders? Thanks

We've used edulink one and the company overnet data for years. Really impressed with the system. It does everything we need it to. The company itself is really responsive to feedback and requests for changes too. Parents really like the app and information they can access through it. Highly customisable so you can just use the features you want to.

Yes, you can configure in under notifications and choose push, email, SMS.

Apparently all the email is sent direct from Office 365 servers not EduLink's. hmmm. We sent one message and office 365 disabled the account for spam but looks like it is just something on our setup.

Any pointers how to do this in office 365? Thanks
