They did but it never took for various reasons one of those as I understand was the lack of expertise within the org. Russ -
arr that is why fronter was brought out...
russdev replied to russdev's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
Would be its a usa project not a uk project got nothing to do with the uk. What I am saying is pearson needed to get expertise into its org so that it can be created so buying fronter very smart move as they have expertise to create it. Also at same time gives them foothold in the uk LP market as fronter got large share of uk market. Russ -
Going to remind them in future to put edugeek.net not just edugeek as hopefully something going in next months issue. Russ

Just a small mention in the byline for edugeek Technology & Learning - March 2009 - (16) Russ

Saw that it was quick way for pearson to get into the lp market in the uk but it certainly helps bring into org staff needed for Project Tapestry. Pearson Tapestry Russ

Am I right in thinking to use 3D DLP HDTV You need following... • DLP TV thats is 3D compatible. • DLP LCD 3D Glasses & IR emitter • A 3D source such a computer • If using a computer then you need 3D software that will send the 3D data to your TV for example the TriDef software that is bundled with such kits as Samsung 3D Kit - SSG1000 or a 3D driver from iZ3D to use with games iZ3D - First 3D monitor for Gamers •

russdev replied to GrumbleDook's topic in East Midlands Broadband Consortium (EMBC)
Don't even get me started on that one I was in second session of that. In my view talked about ip rules for way to long and when it got to network security just before he ran out of time I wasn't impressed was on about the same tied thing that we need to move away from not reinforce. Russ -

Problem with any opensource mis is keeping up with the ever changing targets that government set on mis systems. So unless your it staff include a coder is it risky option as you can't say to government/la we not sending you the census as our system doesn't support it. A opensource mis system will work only if some org takes its and hires fulltime developers and someone with the business knowledge to deal with the goverment side of things. Russ

I do not mean that we should lie about it the facts but I do think you will find they stand up. What I am saying is the the use of facts is besides point the message behind it is important part. As for jobs yes your right to certain degree but that 20 years ago it was to lesser degree. Jobs we have today (forgot about I.T specific jobs) are same apart from odd one. The point video is making is that most jobs in future do not exist currently. It goes back to point of and I hate term a phrase as it has negative view of Learning to Learn and becoming Life Long Learners (has anyone got house yet) so that young people can cope with the changing world which they will take part in.
