Have you tried speaking to your local authority. They usually provide that kind of service.

Yeah anything you sell from within school is VATable. Been trying for a year to get our Business Manager to set me up an Ebay account to sell a room full of old stuffI have.

I have been asked to burn 80 DVD's of videos and photos from Summer Camp. I do not have a dedicated DVD duplicator but I can throw a PC's together with 5 DVD burners in it. Is there any software out there that will make it act like a DVD duplicator, so I just have to swap the discs when it ejects them and it will do the rest. Thanks Daniel

Was looking for something that came in a more substantial piece of furniture really. As to its usage its not really my problem its not coming out of my budget

I have been asked to find a computer setup for our lobby. Basically they want an all in one piece of furniture with a computer in it so the parents can use services such as parent pay and look up information on the school website in the lobby area. Has to be pretty much bullet-proof and stylish. I went to an education ICT event at the Hilton in Manchester last year and saw a bit of kit there that would be perfect but can for the life of me remember the name of the company that made it. I remember it was about 7ft tall, had a metal keyboard and trackball set in a glass shelf at standing level, through the glass shelf you could see the actually motherboard ect. which was lit up blue. If anyone can point me in the direction of getting a similar bit of kit that would be most helpful Thanks Daniel

Watford Girls Grammar School free give away

Shame your so far away, I could use these. -
We just use regular desktop PC's here which have never suffered from any damage. If students are damaging things at break and lunch times then thats a problem with management not IT . As for stopping people fiddling with cables, lots of cable ties is the key.

We switched to sending all communications by email about 2 years ago and I can say we just about have the majority of staff regularly checking their email. As always you tend to find the newer and younger staff are more willing to adapt and learn. So be aware this is not something that will happen over night

For all of the reasons above do not get laptops. The only reason we have them is due to major building works over the next year, once they are finished we will be going back to a hard wired suite. Nightmare

Bit over the top if you ask me. Why the teacher wasn't checking the links prior to showing them to students is beyond me.

Am out of ideas then, I have two of these which are about 6 years old apart from changing the bulb once they have never given a problem.

Have you tried a factory reset?

Starboards not recognised by computers
Torrevez replied to bondbill2k2's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
I had this problem with a USB powered Promethean board. It worked on some computers but not others. It turned out that the USB wasn't putting out enough power on the computers it wouldn't work on. I found it varies from motherboard to motherboard. The solution I came up with was to install a USB 3.0 card as USB 3.0 can supply a lot more power, the card I used plugged into a PCI-E 1x port and had a molex connection on it to supply the power. Never had a problem since. Link for the card I used. Transcend PCI Express Interface USB 3.0 Dual Expansion Card (TS-PDU3) - Aria Technology -
Am currently having a mount made up for the viewsonic PJD7383 by a local engineering company. I will keep you posted on how well it works. We have choosen the Viewsonic because its the right aspect ratio and they can be bought for around £450, also the engineering company can produce us a mounting plates for under £100ea including all the drawing, designing and trail fitting. For the Casio option you need to get in touch with a company called RA Technology who make a mount for the Casio XJ-ST145 which fits on the original boom. However its not a cheap option. They sell the mounts for around £80 and the projector will set you back around £1k depending how many you are ordering. As you can tell I have done alot of research into this as I have about 17 of them myself which need replacing. Edit: RA Technology - http://www.ratechnology.co.uk/

I have heard of Roche AV before, I shall give them call. Thanks If anyone else has any recommendation that would be great I ideally need 3 quotes to appease our SLT and Governors. Here is a little more information on what I need doing I have about 15 projectors I need installing with a mix of ceiling and wall fixture. I have sourced all the hardware, I just need someone to do the fixing and cabling. I also have about 15 IWB's I need fixing to the wall. Once again I have all the hardware, its just the fixing and cabling which I need doing. Thanks Daniel

Torrevez replied to flyinghaggis's topic in Hardware
Hi, stumbled across this while Google this problem with the 2055's. Does this beta firmware fix the problem. At the moment they are running firmware 20100308. If the beta firmware will make this headache go away please will someone send it too me. Thanks
