Thanks for the replies. Does anyone have experience mounting alternative projectors on the shortthrow booms? I'm a little concerned since the mount seems very much non-standard. If anyone knows of any brackets that fit the cylindrical boom that are more of a universal style mount, this would solve all of my problems.

This is a big big help. These look like great projectors. We have a pretty humid climate here so this design might make more sense for us. The sanyo's have given us a lot of issues. If anyone has any suggestions on a cheaper alternative I would also like to have this to present. Also, do these Casio's ever go out? I know they have LED's and lasers..when these fail is there any way for us to replace these items? Will they work on our shortthrow mounts? (with the use of a drill )

We've had the sanyo xe40 prometheans for about 3 years now and some of them are starting to die. We are looking for an alternative projector that might work since cleaning and resetting thermal switches no longer fixes the issue. Anyone have any suggestions for alternative short throw projectors that would be compatible? We'd like to have something with a similar mounting system, that would fit on the same bracket. Any suggestions are welcome.
