Seen a fair few films lately. MI:Rogue Nation - Usual stuff as before with these films, the bad guy was annoyingly weak chinned and proceeded to annoy me by whispering his lines and lacking any major presence compared to previous films, nothing brilliant and a bit "meh" overall. Ant-Man - Suprisingly good, I didnt expect it to be good, but this was a very decent Marvel film I thought funny, serious in places and very enjoyable. Fantastic Four - Dreadful, worst marvel film by far to date, terrible acting and no presence from the cast I felt, the plot was laughable/non-existant and they literally dragged on and on with this going nowhere story and completely forgot about a bad guy until the last 20 minutes, no one mentioned him at all after teleporting away and back without him, then cut and paste him in to become Dr Doom is laughably bad. Jupiter Ascending - fun film, could have been better, why on earth they thought it would be a good idea to make Eddie Redmayne do a bad impression of the Spitting Image Margaret Thatcher when speaking was anyones guess, ruined the film for me.

I generally look to update workstations and servers at the end of the month, our Hyper-V hosts get done a bit less frequently as they aren't on the net, I never ever go for Patch Tuesday's themselves, because you can unwittingly put a PC/Server killer onto them updating straight away, thankfully we dodged the .net date picker SIMS killer the other month on our curriculum network because of this as I was able to deny it from the workstations, whereas the county maintained machines needed to get that update uninstalled ASAP at the time.

I like Capaldi so far very good at it, just hope the writing stays decent for him

I would ring Acer direct to sort it out here, tesco in this is only going to act as a middle man, they probably don't have a designated repair server like PC World/Currys, though they do have some legal obligations thats undeniable in terms of goods sold. I would imagine if you had the SN to hand when calling it would have been a case of just confirming the fault and arranging a return for repair (I assume Acer don't do in-house repairs for this, especially as most touchpads form part of the case these days, its going to be a strip down job. Personally though I avoid Acer and Dell for these reasons, lots of "common faults" at the cheaper end of the market.

Personally I wouldn't move back, I often joked with a college that you would just feel instant regret when they were contemplating it, I had a HTC Desire before my original iPhone 4S and it was miles better (admittedly android was in its infancy back then) I recently got an iPhone 6+ after my 4S and it has been revolutionary (takes a bit of getting used too because of the size change), though I can see how iOS/App Makers seem to make the older models slower with every upgrade, my iPad mini is struggling big time now on iOS 8.4 with noticeable slowness using it and my iPhone 4S struggled with it as well before I upgraded when I went to iOS 8.

Our school have a couple of tomtom watches and heart monitors for this purpose as a test atm, think they are a fair bit cheaper than apple watches

I am currently working towards my CCENT going for the ICND1 100-101 here with self study - CCNA is my next major goal via the two exams route and I chose it over CompTIA based qualifications because of the fact that job adverts tend to list CCENT/CCNA as desirable and you don't get major mentions of any CompTIA certs (that's not me saying that they are worthless at all here, just industry based jobs do not seem to ask for them much after a certain salary level). Also the CCNA desirable jobs tend to be better paid from the offset, (it can be a basic leap of about £5-7k around here for it at junior position level depending on the company) The major qualifications I find listed as desirable with non-educational based job adverts seem to want minimal MC P SA E / CCNA / VCP training (sometimes they want a computer science degree too). @FN-GM is bang on the money, the ICND1 is not really 100% Cisco proprietary based, lots of topics are generally related to IP networking, and they go into quite a depth with the information, though obviously you will use their switching/routing technology for the CLI which forms a large part of it, be it packet tracer/network simulator or their own switches and routers. It is also worth mentioning that it isn't an easy undertaking, the books and videos all mention that there is quite a high drop off from learning this qualification, but its worth staying the course I think and I am finding it both rewarding and interesting. I have bought the two official Cisco books by Wendell Odom (amazon was my friend there) - the official study guides for ICND1 100-101 and ICND2 200-101 (thats the seperate exams for the CCNA/CCENT, I dont fancy doing the composite all in one exam) and I have also bought the online course from Udemy.com to accompany the books (you can search for codes and pay next to nothing for their courses) I also am lucky enough to have access to CBT Nuggets, though this is an expensive option if you are paying cash for that, the videos though are better quality I think than the Udemy based courses I have bought.

That is a quality movement and I think many of us here would shed tears of joy if that was killed off, given it updates every 10 minutes. That being said, so many things use it still like our SecureAssess software off the top of my head, that a quick out of its misery job would be a nightmare

I think its a sad sign that we nowadays are going the way of having to rely on the silent witness of CCTV for everything too, even car journeys are going that way.

I am finding that Edge crashes when you try to run a downloaded program from within it for me, it wont allow any interaction and just plays a noise when trying to do anything within it, shame really as it has a MUCH improved feel to it compared to the crippled donkey of a browser that IE has become, it still feels a Beta product to me as others have said. Looks still are not great on this compared to Mac/Linux, it has improved slightly though nothing "WoW" nVidia drivers are the usual at a release, though nowhere as near as bad as it was on 8 release, I have had them crash out a couple of times and lose the second monitor connection, but thats not 100% windows fault ill wager. Usual story, had to download the USB3 drivers and the proper VIA audio drivers here for my machine also, the windows ones didnt do much and I couldnt get anywhere near USB3 speeds without them.

Indeed iPhone 6 every time ! I would advocate these days buying the phone sim free, its cheaper than network binding contracts these days and you can save cash with a SIM-Only deal then.

I forgot about the Barcode Battler, I had one as a birthday present and used it for about 2 days afterwards, I also remember and think that the Super Scope beat the Sega Menacer which I had given to me for my Megadrive very convincingly having used it, my sister had a Creative Zen MP3 player which was also awful as I recall. I love my DAB radio too, better than normal radio by far.

Ironically I really miss the dreamcast, it was possibly one of the best consoles I owned and the games were all decent on it too, SoulCalibur2/Crazy Taxi/Sega Marine Fishing/Shenmue Xbox I had after it and PS2 never compared to that console for me personally.

The two main standout pieces I owned and was lucky to get rid of without incurring any losses were a Sega Dreamcast and a Sony Minidisk recorder, managed to own both and get rid of them within 6 months without losing major cash, stuck both on eBay and broke even. Even took the dreamcast online but its 33.6 modem was awful. Mobile phones - I was one of the first 3 customers in the UK when they were just out and owned at least 3 of their range of handsets, all were massive and heavy things with their 3G, would have stayed but they made their PaYG service a rip off after a few short months. Bought the wife a Wii which hasn't been connected now for about 2 years as well and my chromebook is also resigned to sitting here since I bought my Ret Macbook Pro

I wouldn't buy a phone on a contract again tbh, It works out cheaper by far to drop to a sim only deal and just buy a handset sim free on a credit card every couple of years, as said already the gouging on price is horrible with the networks. I am iPhone6+ at the moment and I wouldn't change off it now tbh, having owned android phones in the past.

if I'm reading in the sanctuary its about 40 minutes, if not about 5-10 minutes, I can get ready to go out in about 10 minutes, wife takes about 20-30 on average. Once the boy is toilet trained the whole system is going to come crashing down ill bet

I use iCloud for mine straight off the phone, I also use Google+ and Onedrive too, Paying 80p a month for 20gb on iCloud and I have 100gb free on Google+ and Onedrive (100gb free because I bought a chromebook, though google give free storage for photographs and I snagged 100gb with onedrive as part of having a legacy account with them)
