It is disappointing that while phones are becoming more powerful, there has been little or no real advancement on battery or portable power source. I hear whispers about hydrogen fuel cells and solar technology - isn't it time these were brought into the portable mainstream?

Exchange OWA URL redirection problem.

Also depending on the version of exchange you have, you may need to create an externally signed certificate. -
I'd be interested in the AD integration if you can point us in the right direction? System looks good by the way - good job

For anyone wanting to perform live capture use this command from an SSH terminal or from the console: tcpdump -vv -nqi ipsec0

I think I have found them.

Nah the interface is different, I would generally click on Log and Reports then on Firewall or IPSEC but they are telling me nothing. I'm sure there is a way of accessing more detailed logs but do not know where they are located (SSH possibly?)

Yes I though that was for direct support - this is a more generalised question Thanks though.

Hi, Does anyone know where I can access the detailed logs for VPN etc... on a SmoothWall Device? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. CCP

Hi Chris, Just out of interest (I know you have solved this now so just a question out of curiosity) Are both Servers in the same site and are they located in the same location?

Hi all, Please Help! I am on the look out for any type of PC's, Laptops, Servers, Smartboards, Projectors, DLT devices, NAS boxes, external storage and switches. We are a small FE College where funding has been neglected in the ICT department for about 5 years. So I am on the scrounge for cheap or even FREE! equipment. So dig deep, if you can donate anything it would be very much appreciated. Please inbox or PM me if you can offer anything. We are based in Peterborough but are prepared to organise couriers if need be. Many thanks for your assistance.

We are currently looking at an entire iverhaul of our Wireless network. At present we have disparate domestic access points with no method of control. I have been looking into Meru and they seem like a very good brand so would be very happy to discuss terms if interested - we can also arrange courier too Thanks in advance Dav

Realtime Network Monitoring / Mapping

The dude and Nagios are by far the best I have used. -
When I joined just under 2 years ago, I found myself lumbered with Corero. After countless meetings we are still no further along with a resolution to our issues - namely online enrolments and other certain updates to the core system. My MIS team are almost in daily contact with Corero support for one thing or another. If I had a choice, i would probably steer clear of them in my opinion.

Hi Forum! We are in the process of revamping our VLE system. We are currently using Moodle v1.6 and are looking to start afresh. I have heard that Google Apps for Education is a good cloud based option. Has anyone had any experience with Google Apps for Education or should we stick with Moodle and go to v2/3?

We are currently with Avast! they seemed to be running ok - hard to tell when we have not suffered any threats for long time. I will give it a look none the less. On another note Vipre is embedded into our Smoothwall firewall so it must be good!

Thanks for the Clarification - I forgot about post SP2.

Hi Rawns, This is a very good reference for knowing how to promote servers as PDC etc... However in simple terms, just go to a run prompt and type: DCPROMO then follow all on screen prompts. When complete, you will have a domain set up. Then its just a case of configuring DHCP, DNS etc... Here is the link I was referring to earlier: Step By Step Guide for Windows Server 2003 Domain Controller and DNS Server Setup | Windows Reference Hope this helps.

Backup exec for me set up in the following way: Full weekly backup on to DLT with daily differentials saved to NAS for quick restore. The daily diffs are then stored on to DLT tape monthly. Since I have two Campuses to look after I am in the process of setting up a granular WAN to WAN online back up strategy over my backup microlink. This will be in place when the other Campus' 100Mb link is installed.

Hi Sheridan, I take it you are using the Enterprise edition as you mentioned 75Gb limit. For info the standard edition is 50Gb just in case you were unsure. It is always not recommended to perform a defrag of a mailbox store in any state. Instead I would just create a new store. Move all the mailboxes to that store then drop the existing one. Zero downtime, zero impact to the users, zero chances of data loss. Simples

I would replicate the scenario in to a Virtual environment as both a training and research excercise. Just my $0.02 worth
