    Hello all, I have been asked to put together a proposal for providing student remote access to a full windows 7 desktop from outside. I have included the likes of "The Cutter Project" for a price on the proposal (hardware & setup). Does anyone have any other ideas who I could contact to see what they suggest and receive pricing?

    Oaktech how large is your organisation? We have approx 1000 devices and 1500 users. Just curious to know how many your 3020 is serving? having looked at the quote again over 3 years a PA-2020 would cost us an additional 15,000 pounds over the cost of a PA-500.

    Great, thank you! VMB annual rental includes this PA500. 100mb sync connection £9k per year with a 3k install = 30k over 3 years. Little head room to buy anything else on top of those costs.

    Unfortunately the price they have quoted us for the 2020 unit is an additional 4k a year over a 3 year contract. I'd hate to think how much more the 3020 would be..?

    I'm in the process of investigating an alternative to our LEA connection and the current offering from VMB includes a Palo Alto PA500. A layer 7 firewall including web filtering. Which means when I lose the ability to use a virtual Smoothwall appliance when we pull away from the LEA I can use the PA500 to do the filtering the Smoothie did.

    Good luck! I've tried that plus running a batch file, tried creating a program with no source files and running the installer from an anonymous share. Tried all sorts of combinations - i cannot get this to work. I'd be delighted if you could get this to work and share the knowledge.

    Basicchannel - how did you get this to deploy through SCCM in the end then? Did you create a package with source files and then create a standard Program and simply run the Uberinstaller.exe from the directory containing the xml file?

    I am in the process of doing exactly they same! I so far have spent 3 solid days on this so far to no avail. If I find a solution I shall let you know.

    nslookup returns: *** domaincontroller.school.region.sch.uk can't find http://www.school.region.sch.uk: Non-existent domain. I have an external IP which points to our TMG - so external traffic coming in works fine. I have purchased a new external domain (http://www.schoolname.co.uk) I could simply ask for a redirect on our http://www.school.region.sch.uk to point to http://www.schoolname.co.uk ? That might be the easiest option?

    Hi all, looking for a bit of clarification. We have a website which we have setup internally on Wordpress using Ubuntu. for example the address is: http://www.school.region.sch.uk This is the same as our FQDN internally, whilst this all works lovely the only way I can get to my website internally is to browse to http://website - I added a A record in DNS to point to the IP address of the web server. When ever anyone googles us the results bring back out http://www.school.region.sch.uk which users are clicking and are unable to access the site - page cannot be displayed. What is the easiest way round this? Is it to put in some type of redirect or to change the Wordpress install to listen to anything on http://www.region.school.sch.uk?

    Does anyone have the following combination working together nicely: App-V 5 + Windows 7 + Folder Redirection (App Data, Desktop, My Documents, Favourites) App-V 5 works lovely until we turn on folder redirection for App Data (\\server\homedir\%username%\appdata)- then it throws back an error. So it appears as though it will not work if we use folder redirect. I would be interested to know if anyone else has come across this and resolved the issue? Thanks.

    4.6 will work! I used to use that with folder redirect and that was fine.

    Correct! my investigations are if you redirect through GPO My Documents, Desktop or AppData it breaks App-V 5 and that includes SP1 - that's what I have tested it with. I found a German TechNet webpage that said they are aware of this and are planning an update in SP2 - but when....?

    Be careful with App-V 5.0 because folder redirection breaks it!

    Can anyone else advise if they have seen this issue with App-V 5.0: We are trialing app-v 5.0 and when we log on as a test user and try to run one of the published applications it errors out. This is only consistent with users that have folder redirection applied to them. Users that do not have folder redirection works fine. Folder redirect is set to: \\fileserver\homedir\testuser\ I have checked the permissions and they are all correct, the test user has full control over all files, folders and sub files. Anyone seen this? tested it, come across the same thing? Any help greatly appreciated.

    Has anyone got App-V 5.0 working with folder redirection enabled for AppData? For example we have our staff folder redirection pointed to: \\fileserver\homedir\%username%\ Where the GPO settings are to: Move the contents to the new location. When we log on as a staff member to test App-V 5.0 we are receiving errors about the application not being able to launch. I found a foreign technet article about something with folder redirection / appdata and app-v 5.0. Google Translate Has anyone else come across this and found a solution?

    I am after some spare chargers for some Dell E5500 laptops along with a couple of batteries and keyboards. Originals would be nice, previously had bad experiences with non-original spares. Can anyone suggest a good place to get these?
