  1. Are you using Chrome? We found last week a similar issue however in “new” Edge it loads constantly while in Chrome it wasn’t, so not sure it’s a OneNote issue more than browser compat some how Might be worth a try at home too Steve
  2. If you control alt Del during the hang, but cancel the menu it’ll remove the screen and show you what’s stuck if there’s a program waiting on uac, dialog box open etc etc Would be worth a shot to see if it’s something like that Steve
  3. Were those the Y12/13 ones? The schemes been extended to cover them so everyone got extra allowance (there should be another increase this week coming through too due to extended lockdowns) Steve
  4. Fixed that for you! Steve
  5. Thought this was rather an interesting snippit today I noticed: Never seen it mention versions before Almost as if there's progress or there's going to be SIMs 8 updates soon™ ! Steve
  6. I take it you’ve tried changing resolutions and scaling? That looks like one is 4:3 and one 16:9 (from the button spacing at top) so wondering if that’s why it upsets it when tempting in but using LogMeIn with native res works? Steve
  7. I don't know if it still does, but didn't FMS used to link into SIMs for personnel bits? (Not sure if it's going to be fussy with a mismatch depending on what's being done in FMS at least) Steve
  8. Yeah a few items like this seem to be a case of people never restarting Teams. (Or closing it, and assuming it's restarted when it's actually running in toolbar) Steve
  9. As an alternative thought, could you just suggest they use any drawing program that makes SVG etc, and then convert them to DXF yourself (teacher wise) using Inkscape or similar program? Steve
  10. If it's pinging fine it's unlikely to be DNS then. Just noticed in your image it shows the clients offline too, Have you checked things like your firewall GPO for Solus rules (on clients/server) in terms of how you authorised the connections (was it limited to local subnet or anything etc) Steve
  11. I don’t know if it’s the same issue we had previously but VPN clients don’t often update dns records so although it can ping via IP etc and it’s got a dhcp lease Solus won’t update it until you added the dns record and then it’d update fine Can you ping the computer via hostname from the server ok? (You said about via ip) As if so guessing it’s not linked Steve
  12. To be honest I'm more curious as to why every school seems to have Parent Evenings on Thursday Is there some back story to it? Only ever seems to be the case in every school I've been in that I can remember Steve
  13. Yep someone broke their load balancer! Steve
  14. Pfft! We have intruders!!! Steve
  15. It seems very much to be dependant on batch/style e.g. DfE lockdown or not etc, as the only reports so far seem to be of a new batch (after Christmas) of non-lockdowned ones. But as mentioned lots more details in other one Steve
  16. Just a heads up if you didn't see it, but there's an on-going discussion around that in http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/218211-geo-geobook-1e-education-laptops-horrible-9.html might have some useful info if you didn't get a chance to check the last 2-3 pages in tehre Steve
  17. I know you said about new and long warranty, but for the level of storage you're asking and the price, have you considered that one Dave mentioned? It'll be running what 3.2TB NVMe in RAID10, as well as 3.6TB~ 10K SAS I'm sure with the spare 1.6k~ you could get an extra 2 years warranty and even some more SSD/NVME if you wanted If you did want new new though, what sort of items did you want? Like 10Gb networking? RAM? etc etc, there's lots of Dell deals on most the time but depends on spec etc as to what model I'd suggest Steve
  18. Based on what you said I wouldn't personally even consider building a domain/server setup, as the cost for the license alone is going to outweigh what you gain. (Unless you're expecting a huge increase of users soon) Office 365 Business Premium contains Intune licenses for the management/deployment sides. Also includes shared activation for Office on those machines. You have Azure AD for usernames/passwords etc Steve
  19. I swear Flash isn't going to die nicely... Thought I'd try a few other random old rubbish programs they use here, and even though SWFs stop working after removing CS6, if I run the exe/wrappers the Flash files still work... Either they have another Flash player hidden somewhere, or can these wrapper exe's have flash built into them? (Not that I've ever seen that being a case, but thinking 10 year old+ programs here!) Steve
  20. Doesn't seem to, this is a manually installed version to test it, and mine still remains. In the notes on the patch: Steve
  21. Here's an interesting one then... So after testing on a machine what happens to a few machines/builds after Flash is removed (Going back a story about the previous company having about 10 different versions of Win10 running at once), I ran a SWF file and can imagine my surprise when Adobe Flash Player 11 ran... Seems this site has Adobe CS6 which includes Flash Player 11 as a player so that still runs even after the patch as that won't remove that version Anyone find any smart way of smiting it without breaking Adobe CS6? (Aside from Flash obviously ). I take it apart from Flash builder nothing else runs it within Adobe CS6? Steve
  22. Not directly in the Teams admin centre, but you can do it via the normal admin centre. Open the user, and look at the groups they're assigned to (You'll see the 365 linked group, which will be the same name as the Team if renamed) Steve
  23. Ah, I thought you meant 148 cores total, then either 74 if using Std, or 56 if DC which is where I thought it didn't add up very well Didn't realise you meant both! Steve
  24. I'd always say OVS (or equiv) for the "free" upgrades. I'm curious on your core count though, in terms of why your std vs dc is so different? What host CPUs are you running it on? Steve
  25. Yep, For reference if you click View (rather than deploy) expand the patch (+) you'll see what it deploys Steve
