Had someone run the halls of agony or what ever they are called last night on my first public open game, a level 45 barbarian then stood to one side as I'm against the butcher 1v1 with my level 13 mage. Thankfully it was only normal but enemys are meant to scale depending on the number in your party, no worries still managed to kill him first time no deaths. I think I'm prob best off keeping the game private on my first normal play then party up after I've seen the story and explored abit more. Yellow/Gold loot ftw

I've only seen older version on any computers or images since I started here and use v3 on an old PC in our office for media as its the only computer around with firewire ports so I'll have a dig around for the illusive disc! Having double checked the image I made last year, the two IT suites used for this groups lessons have adobe premier elements v3

The role is an LEA tech for multiple schools not all of which are RM. RM is not mentioned in any job description or person specifications so I only know this from the previous unsuccessful interview there.

Well I began converting some that students had in their homeshares to wmv and replace the previous files with them but movie maker said the video is too different from the original to replace it. It looks like most the students wrote '.wmv' at the end of each file regardless of file type thinking that would make them wmv several are MPEG and some audio files are .m4a's. I think most of them came from youtube down-loaders so god knows which they used and the format they default save as. I have tryed to educate people on files come in different types much like people speak different languages and some software works like a translator but It falls on death ears. I've given students and staff the software to convert it themselves (formatfactory) converted those in the NAS share and explained to the IT teachers what to do. Next year provide them with a set number of resources and a scenario to make a movie for, the source youre own media option was a bad idea!

Witjout going into too much detail I have a job interview in a weeks time for a role I was previously interviewed but unsuccessful as another candidate was more experienced. A few months on the role is vacant again but I now know several of the schools the team and i will be supporting in this role are RM networks. Having only ever used vanilla setups and not even looking at RM before could anyone help with some key details? What's so different what makes an RM do different from vanilla besides a few bits of software?

Our year11s are finishing off their OCR Nationals and as the final unit they are editing videos using movie maker. Most of them have completed their movie maker projector but now must export the video but blasted movie maker is not playing ball! Almost all students are having export problems at different percentages of the export process. Some I have sorted by looking at what stage it freezes finding the video at that stage of the timeline and using a video converter to WMV, write over the old file and it exports fine however the previous files did say WMV, imported into movie maker fine and played back fine. Others I have done as stated above but still have the issue, videos have been added by students and teachers to both their documents and a shared area on a NAS. They also have audio over the entire clips. With deadlines at the end of this week its taking too long to play around each students movie project to correct problems and I could really do with a fix or finding the reason WHY!!!! *rage quits the class*

Recently the windowssearch.exe has began locking up until the user clicks 'end task' is there any way of removing this process. I've looked at the event logs and can't see any reason why the service locks up.

Larger files are placed on a 2TB NAS with shared area for staff and students. Print server is also wsus and replicates the DC. Sims is separate on the admin domain DC. One question I do have (I did put a noob warning as the topic) What is the advantage beside organisation and nice naming conversions of running virtual servers on a piece of hardware over that hardware being used for one normal server performing all those tasks? They are after all sharing the same hardware for the same tasks plus having to run another copy of the server OS. I can understand why you'd want it for cost and space reasons alone over more physical servers but surely again I refer to the previous question. Is it due to separating the number of services being handled by a single OS resulting in a performance increase and improved 'flow' to the management of services?

We currently run only a few servers but run a network of around 400 devices and near 1000 users, our main DC is currently running alot of services and performance seems....ok but Im pretty sure so many tasks shouldn't be allocated to the one server IMO (they were setup like this before I started here) Server 1, DC- DHCP DNS AD GPO WINS AV Backup print server Few pieces of software also running from share File server for all homepaths and a few shared areas for staff too Spec: Intel Xeon E5410 2.33Ghz x4 4GB DDR2 332MHz *awaits amusing feedback on our poor setup* upgrades due this summer tho!
