Last drunk game I played was just a combination of Monopoly + alcohol. It ends up with everyone shouting NO I WILL NOT SELL and refusing to sell any properties to other players or swap in fear of the hotel takeover....doomed I tell thee!

Sorry to bump this but we have just been using the NAS as a backup but would like to use it as a file server again. Again I've encountered AD sync problems frontview shows user accounts picked up from AD but doesn't show our security groups from any OU.

We had around an hour of torrential downpour which saw water building up like crazy and several smallish leaks spring up around the school none of which thankfully affected anyone too much. A mate of mine, a builder by trade had 7 call outs in 30minutes to leaks at different locations including 2 into small business server rooms. This downpour was folloed by lovely sunshine and 22C+ temperatures its just so strange to have lovely blue sky then the darkest clouds known to man hovering a few miles away. Journey home last night and to work today took abit longer with several de-tours from road closures ended up being about 45miles today. Horrifically a man was found drowned only a few miles from here, an old teacher from our school I'm told about 15years ago! RIP

No boot device - RAID 5 Unconfiguration Bad
bondbill2k2 replied to bondbill2k2's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
Yea Im a little thrown by it the fact I loaded up the Raid controller bios to be prompted for a foreign config import. If RAID had been configured correctly this shouldn't be prompting correct? tmcd0035- 5 physical discs I may be wrong in saying RAID5, I've been told that is what it uses but I cannot find any settings stating this :/ No abnormal activity to my knowlage over the weekend either, other servers are still fine. We keep on-site backup and off-site for most files. Our printserver also acts as replication AD plus its our primary DHCP server. Do I dare apply the foreign adaptor settings of 4xphysical drives and 1x hotswap.... -
Well I was welcomed back to work this week with the curric DC displaying no boot device found. Having looked at a number of settings and logged a call as the equiptment is under warrenty I began looking at the Intel RAID controller BIOS having never looked configured or genrally touched RAID setup before. First thing was a prompt to select a configuration to import for the adaptor, to which I selected cancel and viewed the pysical device status. One drive out of the 5 currently running was showing as conf:Bad status. I have since selected make good and the device now shows on the avaliable important conguration as a hot swap drive. Would I be correct in saying if I import this config to the RAID controler the hot swap drive will be rebuilt? I'm yet to go ahead with this before asking someone knowing abit more then me on RAID but as its under warrenty any support goes to suppliers and we are awaiting a call back. Any help would be greatly appreciated! *hands out eduhobknobs willy and indeed nilly*

Communications with ICT staff in school - how do you do it?
bondbill2k2 replied to broc's topic in General Chat
Phones mobile on desk and mobile, helpdesk on our sharepoint LG, emails, notes, in person both at our office and in the corridor and on rare occasions still letters in pigeon holes then later complains why we didn't deal with the problem quickly! -

Looking at the wiki I found a number of deadlinks regarding virtualisation and could require updating if the content is still available? Ultimate Schools Virtualisation Guide - Wiki

Picked up a Giant XTC off ebay for £200, took it for a run after changing the tyres and tubes over cannock chase's . What a difference, owned those hills compared to before and drops were so much smoother and easier!
-
Yea having looked at previous selling prices of some bikes its not worth paying much for that one its abit dated! Misleading due to how clean it looked when I first saw the advert. A 2010 Giant XtC2 hardtail sold last weekend for £380 in good condition gives me an idea what to expect for my money

The Carrera Banshee X looks like a good option if I can drop on one for my price range, one on ebay in travel distance at the moment having seen one go for under £500 last week, also a none 'x' model Banshee fairly local on the bay I'd love to make use of this scheme but work is a 75mile commute each day!
-
Anyone know if this is a decent buy for £350ish? Full decent suspension setup and decent frame but thinking lack of discs must mean this is a fairly old near 10year old model? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221045341210?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1361

any recent updates possibly applied overnight worth trying remove any that applied overnight or around that time?

Well did the Follow the dog chase trail tonight what a laugh that was! Tired now tho, bike held up ok but a new one wouldn't go amiss. Just missed a nice Giant Xt3.5 as it was too far away

Ebay bikes I've only been looking in a 20mile radius so I can inspect before I buy and take someone who knows abit more then me, generally looking at 2010> models aswell so they tend to be less 'used and abused' bang for buck the hellfrauds bikes seem alright but I'd rather spend more and get something better but also those new are getting out of my price range so pre-owned bike does seem to be the best option!
-
tbh doing some research voodoo and carrera both get much praise in the bike community for sub £1k bikes not just for value but equipment too! I suppose once you have a good base its worth just building on that upgrading forks tyres brakes etc as you see fit depending on your needs. Carrera are made in the same factory and same designers as specialized bikes I've read!

In a pursuit of improved fitness and rekindling an old hobby from my teens I'm looking at purchasing a new mountain bike. I've been going on 3/4 bike rides per week the last month around 12-15miles each down local canal paths and other rural routes such as near by walk routes along south Stafford railway. Of the weekend I'm looking at visiting Cannock chase and its trial routes. I don't know alot about bikes but I currently use my 12ish year old Trek 4500 a pretty good bike which has taken some abuse and at times neglect over they ears I've had it but I'm thinking I may benefit from a new bike rather then my current beaten Trek which could do with some new cogs saddle and suspension really. Bike radar seems good for review and an idea of what to buy, the best sub £500 mountain bike seems to be shockingly Halfords sold Carrera Vulcan but looking on the bay...as you do I've been looking at lovely Giant and Cannondale bikes in the £700-800 region reselling only sometimes 12months old for around the Carrera vulcans price range which Is really tempting but possibly overkill? Anyone on here able to shed more light on the matter, maybe someone who's recently looked or purchased a bike or someone who enjoys their bikes? Much rather opinions on here then a sales man in my local bike store!

If you don't know about the humble indie bundle basically it's a collection of indie developed games including Bastion, Limbo and several others which you can purchase for what ever you want and choose what percentage goes towards developers or charity, if you pay over the average which is only $7.84 at the moment you also get Bastion which in itself is worth that! These bundles only last for a few weeks and this is the fifth release so get them while you still can! Oh try and play Amnesia in the dark, a generally scary game The Humble Indie Bundle V (pay what you want and help charity)

RM networks - the important bits
bondbill2k2 replied to bondbill2k2's topic in Network and Classroom Management
I see what they mean about CC4 management console being simple to use, practical test was mainly using that and a couple of other things. Passed fine and got the job They will also be running RM training for technicians so that should be useful! -
Today I had my interview and practical test with a midlands LEA IT support... Great to say I got the job! More details in the future still need to work my notice
