  7. I've been asked to update the Assets we have recorded in our main database, the site staff wish to update with a complete new log. However they don't want to wipe the database and start again, they want to have a character placed at the start of the existing Assit IDs... Friday

Congrats! I'll just be enjoying a week off before the chaos of the half term before the next holiday!
  15. Agreed! That's amazing... and set as wallpaper!
  16. If that's a SMART board does that problem still happen when you press the two buttons on the "pen tray" at the same time?
  17. We have a child protection issue to resolve quickly... One of the support team has had to help a student access their school email by sending emails to their personal email address. Things had been CC'd through the CPO before someone points things out to me... Anyway, since then the team member has been getting a fair amount of spam from this student's personal address... Baring in mind that the student may need to email their tutor or the admin office if their password doesn't work to get access to their school email... but how can we block it for the support team member? Yes a rule within Outlook will delete it, but it doesn't stop the email from being delivered... I hope that makes sense, but I can add to it if needed...
  18. Firstly I didn't setup the Moodle VLE for the school I'm in or how it talks to SIMs.net and AD... Though being as I've got a bit more understanding of how Moodle works than some of the others in my department I've been given the task of finding out how to tie the Windows Login with automatically Loging into the VLE. It's already tied to the AD, so we reset the password there and it works on Moodle, etc... To make things worse, other members of the department have said that the guy I replaced had turned the feature off before things were tied in with SIMs but they couldn't remember where... We're running Moodle 1.9.9 I'm told and I've been warned that a move over to Moodle 2 is in the pipeline... Any directions/hints/suggestions would be greatful as I'm pulling my hair out trying to remember where I've seen the option before...
  19. I've shown the office staff a few of the sites listed here (thanks for all the suggestions guys!) and the only thing they've asked is are the original documents that are submitted to be converted stored anywhere on the server? Data protection, child safety, etc...
  20. It is Country Music, so you have been warned...
  21. Just had a quick play and that will do...!
  22. "The Powers that Be" have asked Admin to see if they can make things into flash based magazines and in turn Admin have come to us... I've had a look through a few different options but they're either pay to use, too complicated for the Admin staff to use or free and limited to two pages max... I was just wondering if anyone out there has used or is using something similar? They'll be converting mainly PDFs to the flash magazines... Hope that makes sense...
  23. Ok maybe someone can pick up from this and figure out how to tie it in with AD... I use bat files to map drive for people that don't have/want domain attached machines. net use X: \\server\folder\ /user:domain\userid password Change where it says "server" to the name of the server, "folder" to the location and you can keep digging as deep as needed so as to tie into people's storage drives. Then replace "userid" with the login name and "password" with their password. Yes it's simple and boring to make loads of these, but it has served well for me
  24. I have a handful of computers that is slowly growing to more than just a handful... some are domain attached and others are not. What I'm wondering is if there is a script that will allow me to make changes to one or more local computer policy? As in I log in and run a batch file and it makes the changes for me automatically... Now privacy rules within my school has made it so that the "powers that be" don't want people to know who the previous user of the computer was when they come to log on. So thats found in the policy section under... Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options then changing the option under Interactive Logon: Do not display lasy user name to enabled. Natually for computers like the ones in my team we don't need to apply this policy as we only use our own computers, however with the class room machines and mobile teaching work stations we'd like to apply this... First of all if this is possible to do, that'll be great, secondly someone pointing us in right direction would be very helpful! Hopefully that makes sense! Thanks!
