  1. Hahahahahahahaha! I found it works on just about anything, whether you drink it or rub it in. Naturally i only use it for midisimal purposes. I am in constant againy otherwise, 1100 kids, 200 teachers. Thats what i call pain!
  2. Ahhh, my gran used to rub a tiny bit of whiskey on my gums when i had teeth coming through. It's amazing how many teeth i had come through...!
  3. Localzuk - You also forgetting, the teaching staff have enough trouble remembering one password at present, dont give them any more to think about.
  4. Which is rather perverse as one of the scares involved DVLA data lost by a foreign outsourced subcontractor (American not Indian). Ah yes, the pearson testing centre with all theory test results. The database which i am on. They also conduct the tests for the CompTIA exams such as the N+ and A+ and other IT industry reconised qualificationsi believe.
  5. I doubt it, our local authority recently banned all USB stick and CD media, and all removable storage media. A complete security review. I feel this is just a taste of things to come.
  6. Righty then. Outsource it is. Or i could pass it onto the LEA girls and boys to look in to, they get paid more than after all!
  7. Right then... that has given me a lot to think about. I think it may just be worth me checking my contract, as this is not my area. Then explain how me doing all of this could affect response times within the college and then suggest them employing/hiring a third party to do the work and i'll liaise with them, and learn some stuff at the same time! Cheers people for the input.
  8. I don't think you'll be able to do it in just HTML unless your site uses a payment processor such as PayPal or Google Checkout. We are using google chckout, however she isn't too keen on using the google chckout 'buy now' buttons, however we are aiming to use Google checkout for the order processing. We just want something that puts all the selceted items in one place to process all at once, other wise with google checkout they have to purchase each item individually, which is not user friendly. I am trying to get them to adear to good practices at the same time.
  9. EDU-IT: Personally i am just using 'Macromedia dreamwever' as thats what the kids will be using, so i am guessing HTML
  10. Hi all, Hope your still enjoying the Christmas break. The head of IT has asked the technical team to create a demo, web site which has a shopping cart for one of the units they are teaching the A level class under e-commerce. How when she says, demo, she means real thing, and when she says she'll be teaching, she means us to teach her and then she'll pass on the notes! I could either do with a free shopping cart which is V V V easy to implement as web design isn't my side of thing. It is meant to implement with Google checkout, I have offered he buy now buttons which google generates for you, however she won’t have it! Something as simple as a basket, with 'Add to basket links' which then add any items in that basket to google checkout is what I was thinking, but they either cost money - which we all know is a know in education IT or are far too complicated. Any suggestions...? This is one of the management members that gave us each a crate of lager.....i told you they would want something in re-turn! :x
  11. Even if you do have to log on locally to the laptop, the data itself is still unprotected, so if the laptop was stolen, all someone would have to do is to remove the hard drive and plug it into a SATA/IDE to USB converter, and if the docs etc are not password protected themselves, bullseye!
  12. How much did microsoft pay you?
  13. Our filters at the LEA have picked up some references in past months, of which some could have getting me into to seriour trouble. Thankfully, the filter people owe me a few favors. Still i agree, i have noticed it step up a level recently, certainly in th past week or two, i just put it down to the festive celebrations and the possibilty of people indulging into one or two more festive beverages than usual.
  14. Have you recovered from the Stella yet? Nearly, theres still a few bottles left, well.....not for long! We are expecting a head ace of jobs when we get back, the management only invet alchol in there staff when they know they need a good return :!:
