Google has blocked our network from using google search (until we type in a catchpa code) as it thinks malicious traffic is being send to their site. I have phoned SWGFL and they say they cannot see any malicious traffic leaving our network so I'm a little confused now. Has this happened to anyone elses network and what's the best way to resolve this issue? Cheers Matt

That's one reason why I didn't post there (I dislike Apple, Jobs etc but his death is a sad one), as you wouldn't go to someones funeral and start slating them. Admittedly I did leave neg rep once and left my name in the comment box but it was a rather stupid (imo) comment to make.

I couldn't agree more and I remind myself this everytime I have to turn on someones monitor or unmute the sound!

Error code 0 means that the task completed sucessfully!

When it has expandable memory, bigger storage space, swappable battery, no antenna issue, a bigger screen, less expensive with a good contract tarrif, a decent camera and not so bloody locked down I'll consider buying it. But for now I'll stick with my superb Galaxy S (rooted using Darkys rom) and upgrade to the Galaxy S III when (if) it comes out early next year. The SGS3 will most likely be vasatly better than the iphone 4s in every way...

BA works very well. Have it on 3 servers and any issues I've ever ran into, their large knowledge base has usually had the info I need. Only downside is their company is based in the US or Australia so phone support is limited due to time zones.

+1 for Xibo. We run it on a PC running Ubuntu and have 5 screens displaying info.

Just had a thought. Mcafee blocks all sorts of things randomly; make sure it isn't blocking svhost plus other processes. IT used to block dns.exe plus all sorts of programs that interact with Exchange as it thinks it's a "mass mailing worm."

We get McAfee from ScoMIS too and it caught any traces of Conficker immediately (surprised me tbh!) which stopped the virus spreading across the entire network. Therefore unless your version of Mcafee (EPO 4.5 on server and 8.7 patch 4 on desktops) is horribly out of date I don't think you will have Conficker on your network. What does the affected PC event logs say? Are you sure the correct drivers got installed? Try updating / reinstalling the PC's chipset, sound driver and network driver and see if that helps fix the problem.

Yep it was a profile issue for us which is why you rename their current profile to something else which will force the account to create a new profile when they next login. If I was in your position I would backup her profile on the server and delete it, create a new one (copy any favourites etc back over), go to a PC which doesn't have her profile on it and see what happens. If you still get the active desktop error, see if simply changing the wallpaper fixes the issue.

We have this issue on Netbooks and no reg fixes solved the problem, however this seems to fix the issue : - Login as Admin - Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\ - Change StudentUser profile to C:\Documents and Settings\StudentUser-OLD\ - Login as StudentUser (make temp admin of netbook) to re-create the profile - Set appropriate wallpaper - Lockdown Netbook via our scripts and change studentuser back to limited user

Well we have fixed the problem which stems back to RM installing an incorrect version of User Manager along with other components (CC4 version rather than CC3....) which broke a lot of things. We had to reinstall User Manager and make sure a csvimport.dll was present (it wasn't) so you were pretty much spot on, Timethrow! Also thanks for the PM, much appreciated.

Hi Guys We have just tried to import a list of new users into the RMMC and we get the error that's in the attached picture below. Has anyone had this before and how did you fix it? We don't have a software support contract with RM so we cannot go to them for help. Any advise is much appreciated. Cheers!

Nice one! Make sure no one manages to wrestle that room off you any time soon. We are lucky here. Nice big Office, tons of network point / power sockets / storage space and to top it all off, air con which goes hot and cold! We couldn't have it much better to be honest

TBH if my phone started to burn me I'd be returning it instantly for a new device

As the screen is so big, it drains the battery fast; this is the same for the majority if not all smart phones. If you want a couple of days battery life, you will need to turn things like wifi, gps, bluetooth, data sync etc off until you need them otherwisew your battery has no chance in lasting a day. Loving my Galaxy S and intend to upgrade to the S2 at the end of the year!

Thanks I'll take a look at that today. Was speaking to Alex on the phone for last few days and she did that for us. It seems to have worked as now the combined hits to configuration.apple.com is 80k rather than 2m+!! Still too high in my opinion, but at least Smoothwall is ok now Cheers guys

Hi We have 3 Macs which hammer configuration.apple.com every day and in turn is causing issues with Smoothwall and the Internet. What is this site and why are the Macs trying to access it so often? Mac 1 - 1.5m hits a day Mac 2 - 300k hits a day Mac 3 - 200k hits a day We don't have this problem with the other 13 Macs. Can we stop the Macs / software on the Macs from trying to access this site? (IE are they trying to update?) Any help or advice is much appreciated. Cheers Matt

Problem solved! The company gave the server two different names - mac_server and mac-server (is this normal for macs??) but as per their instructions we only had mac_server added to DNS. Adding mac-server into DNS then rebooting the mac server and imacs fixed the problem. The dock, home page, proxy etc are now all correct!
