  4. My VBS skills seem to have waned or perhaps I was just carp to begin with. I used to have a script that would uninstall a set application on a given date from teacher laptops. We used it to remove a variety of applications so not as to be caught out when a licencing period came to an end or was not renewed. It was handy if the laptop was an infrequent visitor to the school and it was amazingly effective at prompting the recalcitrant staff member to bring it back in for some TLC. I can't find the script despite searching and it looks like it's been lost - it has been some years since we needed it. Does anyone have or can knock up for me a vbs script that we can run as a scheduled task to silently uninstall or automatically remove the likes of Microsoft Office 2007? I've bashed together one but Office gets its knickers in a twist on our test PC when we run it and I don't whether it's me being lame or a combination of the fact it's me being useless and it's Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows 7 we're dealing with. Box of beer of your choice to whoever can nail this one. Many thanks.
  5. Cheers for the help guys. Usual scenario - job planned and costed and by using a couple of old PCs to drive the content it should have come it at £x but thanks to people not buying what I asked or rather making sure they had what I asked for (vga ports) we're now over budget and there's no way I'm upgrading two old PCs. They can just buy the adapters and I can walk away from the job.
  6. Thanks guys but unfortunately we only have VGA out on the PCs. Some things are sent to try us :-/
  7. We need three VGA to HDMI Adapters / Converters. Can anyone make any recommendations? We've been advised to steer clear of some of the cheaper offerings. Can any of the Edugeek Suppliers help? PM if you can. Thanks. We need to add three Panasonic TVs to our digital signage system and they went and purchased a model without VGA didn't they despite me saying what I needed... Humphhhhhhhh....
  8. Blimey the cost of sticking 16GB into my Windows 7 box has halved since I checked it last! Where's my credit card?!
  9. Being an ex-biker myself I'm well aware of the dangers, but the moron who nearly totaled himself and my wife and I on the Fosse Way this afternoon needs his a$$ kicking all the way to Brighton. He must have been doing 100mph and was overtaking and missed us coming the other way at 60mph by millimeters. Dork head.

The main point is the Venezuelan shouldn't be in a F1 car. Money has got him the seat. He's a useless driver.

  15. Yes I think we're all helping him to cheat as I pointed out earlier :-)
  16. @mhussain Are you doing an exam or a pub quiz and cheating by using Edugeek lol?!
  17. We have venison in our freezer, courtesy of a BMW driver who totalled it (and his car) on the A46 last weekend and a family friend who's a qualified butcher and did all the grisly bits for us. We're having venison pie on Sunday with our own grown vegetables. Can't wait.

  21. The top 10 festival funnies were judged to be: 1) Nick Helm: "I needed a password eight characters long so I picked Snow White and the Seven Dwarves." 2) Tim Vine: "Crime in multi-storey car parks. That is wrong on so many different levels." 3) Hannibal Buress: "People say 'I'm taking it one day at a time'. You know what? So is everybody. That's how time works." 4) Tim Key: "Drive-Thru McDonalds was more expensive than I thought... once you've hired the car..." 5) Matt Kirshen: "I was playing chess with my friend and he said, 'Let's make this interesting'. So we stopped playing chess." 6) Sarah Millican: "My mother told me, you don't have to put anything in your mouth you don't want to. Then she made me eat broccoli, which felt like double standards." 7) Alan Sharp: "I was in a band which we called The Prevention, because we hoped people would say we were better than The Cure." 8) Mark Watson: "Someone asked me recently - what would I rather give up, food or sex. Neither! I'm not falling for that one again, wife." 9) Andrew Lawrence: "I admire these phone hackers. I think they have a lot of patience. I can't even be bothered to check my OWN voicemails." 10) DeAnne Smith: "My friend died doing what he loved ... Heroin." And veteran entertainer Paul Daniels won the wooden spoon for the worst joke of the festival. He won the dubious honour for his gag: "I said to a fella 'Is there a B&Q in Henley?' He said 'No, there's an H, an E, an N an L and a Y'." Groan.
  22. It's still a shame as you can't deny that Jobs has done an amazing job at Apple and they've produced some amazing kit. It's just very sad that it looks like he's in bad shape.
  23. Another vote for PRM Green - brilliant company - they take everything and always turn up when they say they are going to. They even take bits of computers as well as the complete ones.
  24. I use DropBox to enable convenient file access. On holiday in Israel I stuffed a load of pictures in to the Public folder so that people could see them. To do this I used my iPad over a secure wireless connection. Now, I've discovered that I'm getting other users files in my DropBox file system, not just in the Public folder. Quite random stuff and some bizarre things too. I've checked the security and changed the password several times but it's still happening. Files that aren't mine that I keep deleting keep reappearing. I've removed the DropBox client from all my PCs except my iPad. Has anyone else come across this. Can't find anything similar on the mighty Google and so far DropBox haven't responded to my email query.
  25. Doesn't sound good does it? He becomes chairman. USA Today story: USA Today Letter of resignation: Resignation Details "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come," he wrote in a letter to the Apple Board of Directors and "the Apple Community." BBC Story: BBC Story
