  1. Thanks for that, anyone else, just looking for supporting evidence from schools who have made the change. Anything positive about SIMS Connected?
  2. Good Morning, We are currently looking at SimS Connected, and just wondered if anyone else had any other feedback? @JThornton are you still experiencing issues with it? Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks
  3. Morning, I have heard that Google will be soon charging for drive storage and just wondered if anyone else had heard this or knew what the charges would be? Thanks
  4. Thanks for all the replies, I guess saying innovative was the wrong word to use. We do have a lot of the suggestions already in place in line with our school development plan, so its thought o offer some new which is why I was asking for what others were doing. Thanks
  5. We are a single site, think we are already doing most things with regards to moving services to the cloud, just wondered if there is anything else I may be missing, that's innovative that I could mention, I think a trip to BETT will be required this time round.
  6. Hello, I am currently applying for a Network Manager role and looking at future developments, I have a few ideas but wondered what other schools have scheduled for the next 12 months, if you were willing to share your ideas, it may be helpful to me and others in creating development plans. Thank you for any assistance. Thank you
  7. I've checked services and they are running but the fact I cant restart them is an issue. I will try via PowerShell option as well. What's odd is that the sccm Task sequence works fine on some machines and not others, which I why I can't understand what is happening. Thanks for your advice
  8. Good afternoon, I have been working on our Windows 11 build and working through policies to check everything is how we want them. Now I have a strange occurrence that I'm not convinced is policy-related as I don't recall setting anything relating to them. So for our admin user, the option to start and stop services is not possible and also we are unable to add or remove from the domain from System Properties as these two options are greyed out. I have other machines in the same OU that don't display the same issue. These machines have all been built with an SCCM image. so just wondering if anyone has any advice? Thanks
  9. Good Morning, I am attempting to push Solus3 to our new laptops using SCCM, so that it picks up in the SIMS server and we can install SIMS. I have Solus 3 pushed out and it runs however I'm several versions behind and its not being recognised as a target on the server. Just wondering if anyone has managed to push it out via SCCM and if it works or any alternative methods would be appreciated. Thanks
  10. Thanks for the reply. I managed to use a delete shortcut policy to remove those that we don't need, so that issue has been resolved.
  11. Afternoon, I am attempting to tidy up our desktops for our new Windows 11 build and just having a few issues with policies that I wondered if anyone could assist with? The first issue is that we have some installed apps from our SCCM build and these icons appear on the desktop, I would like to hide these, and I'm sure we used to be able to do so but can't find a policy that would allow this. Any help is much appreciated, thank you
  12. Thanks, I think it may have been a permission issue, but nothing had changed so it did seem odd. I attempted to create the driver package in a different folder from other packages and it seemed to work, but the permissions are the same across all these folders, either way, it worked. However, I do have another issue. regarding drivers. so all drivers were imported and can seem them in the Drivers folders in SCCM, yet when i push them out with Task Sequence either as a package or as drivers, not all drivers appear to be installed, for example the wireless card and Bluetooth adaptor are not installed. I've checked which driver it should be and they are present but not installed. not sure how to overcome this issue? If I go to Lenovo and do a search for drivers, the missing ones are found. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
  13. Good Afternoon, Just looking for some advice regarding creating driver packages, if anyone can assist it would be much appreciated. So basically I have new laptops that we are planning on installing Windows 11 and I want to install the correct drivers. I have download the drivers sccm package from Lenovo, extracted into our SCCM shared drive under Drivers. Gone through eh process to add new drivers, added them into a category etc. and now at the point of creating the driver package. I follow the wizard and set the location as another folder on our sccm share. and let the process run. Each time I have tried this it fails with the error "All driver(s) are imported successfully. Drivers cannot be shared to some driver packages." If I go to the driver package folder, this is empty. I have tried this several times but cannot see where I am going wrong, and its not a quick process each time so getting frustrating. If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated. Thank you
  14. The intranet points back to our SCCM server. However, and I don't seem to be able to edit this option but Specify source service for specific classes of windows updates is showing WSUS. not sure if this is causing the issue? Thanks
  15. everything looks to be configured correctly
  16. Thanks for that, I have checked rsop and there are no policies being applied that would override sccm.
  17. Thanks for the reply. If I go to All software updates, then the required column is showing everything as zero. I had left it a few days to see if any updates were deployed, but still nothing. I have built a new windows 11 machine today and added it to a new device group and deployed the updates to this new group, but still not showing. I sense this relates to the above issue.
  18. Thanks have managed to do it using OSDCOMPUTERNAME variable.
  19. How do you set that up with the PC name? that would be ideal. thanks
  20. Afternoon, We have taken delivery of a number of laptops for our staff and we would like to use SCCM to image them. previously we have only used SCCM on existing devices already in AD. So, what I was wondering was, is there a way to add these devices to SCCM to image them without having to go through each device and set up windows 11 to get into windows to install the client? Any advice would be much appreciated? Thank you
  21. Thanks for getting back to me. So my windows 11 update group has three updates available, that I have selected, I know on a new Windows 11 image that these are updates which are available., following your advice I have checked to the see if they are required and they are showing as no. screenshot attached.
  22. Good afternoon, Just looking for some advice/guidance on using SCCM to push out updates to a windows 11 test device. We have never pushed updates out using this method before so its all a learning curve. I feel I have read as much documentation and watched as many videos as possible but don't seem to get the updates to push out. On SCCM, I have a Software Update Group which contains the updates I would like to push out, these have all been downloaded and deployed to a test device group containing my test Windows 11 device, so i have a deployment package ready to go. Where i am getting stuck is that, how do i push these out to the clients? and they are not appearing in Software Centre to see if the updates work. I am missing a step somewhere but not sure where. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you
  23. We have the plus licences. Thanks
