I have one of those little square HP jobbies from ebuyer.... I have CentOS 6 on it with KVM and 8 Gig RAM (also from ebuyer) The server is currently running my website and has a couple of customers on there on small web packages. The web server itself is a Virtual Machine. Then theres another 4 VM's running DNS (x2), Win XP (in case that call center phones again) and A Samba server for storage of all my data. Next year I'm going tobe looking at moving everything over to one of these: http://www.ebuyer.com/269297-hp-proliant-ml110-g7-e3-1220-tower-server-639260-035 The only reason for moving the servers over is I want to keep the mini-HP just for a Samba Server, I have one of the ML110's at work and again it's got CentOS on with KVM and is currently hosting 14 Servers and has 16GB RAM with 6TB of space. Good little servers for the price!

Sounds a lot like Terminal Services..... Which does work with Single Sign On - although personally i think it's more secure when you have to manually enter a password.

If they were Gigabit they may of been worth a punt but I dont think we have room for 100Meg switches. Like I said though maybe try ebay on local pickup cold do a job lot.

You could stick them on ebay ? Just looking and they go for about £20 each.

tried those commands, they show nothing! I think it's because its not its own shadow copy but the ones generated by WSB don't show up in those commands Arrrgggghhhh! I wont be able to extend Drive C: because its system drive so that wont work either! Needs to be offline to extend in Server Manager

Well TBH theres not a lot on the drive that needs backup up, theres only WDS deployment stuff and system state thats all I want - profiles etc are on a different drive and are backed up using Cobian. Looks like i'm stuck at 507MB now!!! its looking like I may have to shutdown after hours, attach a new drive in VMWare and extend the volume - If it'll let me!

Nope that option didnt work...... Still created shadow copy... does anyone know where the copies are held on the drive ?

I think that must be for its own copy, because its actually disabled but on running WSB and running a backup it says "creating volume shadow copy...." Cannot find any options anywhere to disable VSS in WSB, only to change the options from full to copy. Ill try copy and see what happens.

I think it is making Volume Shadow copies but cannot find a way of disabling it.....

Hi all, Something puzzling me today! I have a backup scheduled in WSB - it basically backs up everything to our SAN, This includes Bare Metal, System State, Drive C: and so on. I've got plenty of Backup space left on the SAN a whole 3 TB not a problem... However - The main drive on the server (C:) has this morning got 123MB left... this is not good as you can imagine, so I've deleted some stuff we didnt need on there now I have 508 MB remaining. So as a bit of daft I ran a system backup and now I have 99MB free. It seems that every time a backup runs it fills drive C:! Any ideas ? TIA.

I've looked at Zimbra and when I get time I'm going to put everything on Zimbra, Exchange is an absolute Server Hog and a beast to maintain! Currently using Exchange, but have Sendmail / Postfix up & running also as a backup.

Agreed, we have Sophos here but not the actual appliance. After a couple of hours configuring its spot on.

I no longer like or use Server Backup, instead I use Cobian. It's brilliant and free - I tell a lie actually I think I use Windows Server Backup for a bare metal once a week, everything else I use Cobian. Really simple to use and easy to recover stuff and it backs up anywhere!!! Cobian Backup

being a Hi-Fi enthusiast I advise to get an amp rated to match the power of the speakers, if you under-power your speakers you'll damage the amp as the amp has to work harder to power the speakers possibly even blowing caps if you don't have proper relay protection inside the amp circuitry, you also don't want to over power your speakers as you can blow them if you don't have speaker protection within the amp, some amps will detect what power speakers you have an add cut in protection if the speakers are being over powered if you've cranked the volume.

I would say its not being used, however I'd check it physically make sure there's actually nothing plugged into it. Sounds like A PIX 515e.

anyway after you've done the firewall restart webmin with 'service httpd restart' and service webmin restart'.

OR it could be the firewall is blocking http or https. run this command: system-config-firewall-tui BEAWARE though system-config may not be install so you may need to run 'yum install system-config-firewall-tui' Once into system-config edit the firewall - scroll down the list and enable http and https and then go forward until you go to the end and apply it. This is done through CLI - I've never done it through Gnome Desktop - Ive never installed CentOS with a Desktop.
