We still have publisher 2000 in school. On a pc, she can't open publisher files, it says Publisher cannot open files from a different version. Trouble is they have been opened in 2002 but are still saved as .pub files. Without me converting every one is there a way to open them? I've tried the 2002 compatibility pack but got the same error.

Anyone know any free software that you can use to create one of those pdf documents that turn the pages like a book? Thanks

Hi, At present we have filtering with our ISP. If someone manages to get onto something, its down to the ISP for not filtering correctly. Obviously if we change to filtering in house and someone gets through to something the problem then lies with us as a school. How do you get round the come-back. Write a policy stating what happens if someone does get through etc ??

Does anyone use Exa Networks, either for isp, email or surfprotect ? Just wondering how good they are?

Hi, I have linited knowledge of mac. A teacher here has an iPod touch and also has an iMac. He's trying to transfer files via bluetooth. THe device shows on the iMac but it says disconnected even though bluetooth is enabled on them both. Is this a problem or is there no way to transfer files and its audio only.

Hi, We are looking at switching ISP in the summer. Our current one does isp, filtering, and email. Are there any other companies out there that do "whole" packages like that for education or is it best nowadays to do things separate.

HI, I have a motherboard. It says on it N1996 and also MS-7191 I'm looking for a driver to get the usb's working. Downloaded the south bridge driver but they still don't work. The usb's provide power but don't reconise anything or show up in device manager. Thanks

Hi, Just wondering if there is a way to test a VPN connection while inside the network to which you are connecting? I've upgraded the firmware on a router on the vpn doesn't work so just wanting to try it when at work.

Even a VB Script to run at logon would work. We're a special school and its been recommended by an Occupational Therapist that a particular child uses the mouse buttons the opposite way round as its much easier for him

Hi, A staff member has brought a laptop in today which has wireless switch on the front. When it boots up and gets to windows, they turn on the wifi and it gets blue screen, which is correct as there are errors in event log. If you boot up with wifi on it just scrolls round. However, bring it to work and everything is fine !

Thanks. Yeah the printer will be networked on 2003 server. As long as everyone can print during the day thats fine. I can do the "available times" thing providing I can get a script to clear the queue as 6am on a morning.

Thanks. Forgot about that. Although when i've just tested it, it puts it in the queue so when the printer does come available, there is a back log.

Hi, This has probably been discussed before but can't seem to find it. We are thinking of buying a colour laser for the careers library. This is fine during the day but for a night time, the pupils are free to use the room with staff supervision, but not sure if they could manage what they are printing. Apart from specific software, is there any way of that printer not been available to print between set hours ? Thanks

Anyone know of any decent offers on memory sticks at the moment. I got some 1Gb ones from Ebuyer for £3.50 but they are all selling 4gb now. Don't really need that size and could do to keep costs similar. Thanks
