@ AngryTechnician: Thanks for the heads up on the planet kit. It's always a consern when using an unknown brand if it will last or not. So it looks like I'm back to using single injectors but luckily I've only got 2 APs which need PoE and I see Misco stock a 3Com model 3Com POE Single Port Midspan Solution - Misco.co.uk which looks like it will do the job.

@localzuk: How did you get on with that PoE injector and would you recommend CMS? I ask because I'm looking for a multi port injector myself and I can only find single port types from my usual suppliers.

The caretaker tells me the distance is around 40m so the injector shouldn't have any problems with that

Yes I realized that after I posted, thanks anyway. The ISA logs confirmed that the mailbox was accessed at that time. It makes me mad when staff lie using the excuse that the network is faulty when it’s clearly not. I had the HT asking me this morning why staff cannot access their email... luckily the ISA logs don’t lie!

I’ve got a user who claims they cannot access their exchange mailbox from home via OWA. Personally I think it a ploy to say they haven’t received something when they have as I saw the person concerned the other week and talked them through logging on and accessing their mail and everything worked fine. We use exchange 2003 here and in exchange system manager\mailbox store\mailboxes the user is listed as logging on at 20:35 yesterday when the school was shut. Is that the definitive time of their last logon or is it not safe to use this information?

I’ve written a basic website for the school governors to download documents and policies. I’ve turned off anonymous access and set the ntfs permissions to only allow admin and governors to access the page. Pdf files open in the browser no problem but the problems start when a word doc file is selected to be opened. The logon box keeps popping up when the governor has already logged on. Just clicking cancel closes the logon box but it’s very annoying to have to do this. Any ideas?

I've got a laptop where the HD is trashed because of a virus. Would the 32bit version install even without a working OS or would I have to go for the 64bit version?

Teacher has bought in a Vista laptop from home. When started to comes up with a boot manager error saying there is a problem with file \Boot\BCD status 0xc000000f As there is no restore disk with the laptop is there any other way to fix this?

I've found we only get the problem when there is more than one computer running junior librarian at the same time. I've emailed Microlib but have yet to receive a reply.

I've found housekeeping which has shrunk the database from 12MB to 10.7MB. I see how it goes tomorrow when the library is open again.

Does anybody know what the Junior Librarian database password is? I have a feeling Microlib are not going to make it public!

We're using Junior Librarian v3.2.2.25 and since adding a number of books to the catalogue the system seems very slow and unresponsive. We have 8300 books on the system with around 700 users and I've replaced both computers in the library for new ones but still the system is sluggish. The data\library.mdb file is 12MB I know Junior Librarian uses an Access database and I was wondering if this was the cause of the problem? Is there anything I could try to speed things up?

Is it possible to do that and make it more like XP where you need to enter the username and password?

When Fujitsu managed the EMBC I used to get a weekly report of attempted accesses to blocked websites but since Synetrix took over this has stopped. Is there a way to turn this feature back on?

With software support, how often are the upgrades and does it make a great difference to the operation of the Ruckus kit?

When buying Ruckus kit I see Ruckus resellers also recommend buying into software/hardware support. Is this extra support really needed or just a ploy to make money?

Can't open the zips, both files are corrupt.

I would start by increasing the memory to 2GB or more. 512MB is only good for XP and Vista is slow with 1GB never mind 512MB.
