I would love to move away... I'm already asking those questions but nobody is ready to jump.. hence being stuck... just don't want to upgrade and then find issues later on

Like most I'm working on developments for summer and trying to establish what version of Microsoft Office to install. Currently running 2016 and looking whether to deploy 2019 or 365 Pro Plus. I can see from the SIMS technical road map that SIMS will support Office 2019 from this summer. Does anyone know if they support Office 365 client installations? Would be great to install the latest version to match what users have at home... Anyone see anything?

I used to use observium, now changed to libre NMS. Love it!

This looks like the standalone units I used at my old place. They are made my CDVI if I remember the default admin was 1234512345... Hopefully you can find a CDVI manual... Good luck!

It is correct. They set mine up the other week as I was already using their AD product. Saves so much time. Even pulls pics from sims!

Netsweeper captive portal
andyfield replied to Badaz52's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
The response I got from SBB is that users are required to login every day as the agent will time out... If you have captive portal enabled like me when the agent expires they are then presented with the portal (as expected) -
My School Phone through Schools Broadband - anyone use?
andyfield replied to TMBS's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
We've been using it for the last couple of years and it's a really good solution. Full or features and very cost effective! -
Last year we had power issues and had to run the entire school from a generator whilst the school was still open. Everything worked fine without any issues. Wise to think about spikes when things are changed over as we did the same, however everything ran fine on the generator. The only issue we had for a couple of days was a result of them wiring the phases wrong which meant all the drills in DT went backwards!

Try this... Delete the Registry.Pol file located in "C:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine" (hidden folder) and then run gpupdate /force

I moved our school from RealSmart last summer and purchased Salamandersoft AD provisioning for a fraction of the cost. Would highly recommend them! If you setup Google AD sync and password sync you can match accounts by email address. The whole process wasn't too bad

Looking for Helpdesk software for my team
andyfield replied to m0bov's topic in Learning Network Manager
Freshdesk is amazing! I've got mine linked to 365 so that's sorts out logins as my AD is synced. The apps are amazing as well and really handy for mobile working. You can even create a support portal on the free version which I find really useful as you can even refer back to it when replying on tickets. -
Suggestions and opinions on new Visitor management system

If you have an ipad try "Sign In App" . It's really good and great value for money. -
I used ICT Reverse last time and they were great. Took a while with paperwork but was worth the wait. Complete audit list and hdd destruction list from the 100s of crap I gave them. All collected for free and full certificate.

How to prevent the loss of projector remotes from classrooms
andyfield replied to 6Foot2's topic in How do you do....it?
I've just installed remote cages and coiled wires in all my rooms from https://www.flex-lock.co.uk. Find out Monday what happens! -
I dealt with Craig [email protected] this was my first IP setup and cannot fault it

We changed everything over to them in the summer. Our old phone system was an antique! We are using Yealink handsets and loving it.

I use this product from Code Two... Add photos to Active Directory and manage them in an easy way It's free and really simple to use... even allows you to add them on bulk matching photo names with AD attributes...

As far as I know you need to use the IP address and it will automatically bypass the proxy

I have purchased both. Had one zoostorm fail and support was annoying and didn't live up to expectations. Verypc are fantastic. They bend over backwards to help. Quality is great and price is fantastic. Their flex pc chassis is great as you can secure all of the cables which keeps the kids out!

I cannot praise VeryPC enough... My account manager Tom Burkinshaw is quality... When I wanted a laptop in a hurry he took it upon himself to go down to the production team to help out to get my laptop built in time. To me that speaks volumes about the quality of the company... they never harass you on the phone either... just there when you want them... Yes I know the thinkbooks are rebranded clevo units which other people can ship however I find they offer the best price anyway... I currently have 40ish laptops and 40ish FlexPC's and so far haven't had any issues other than one which a student smashed as the little darlings occasionally do... Laptop was repaired with speed and grace and back into service very quickly... Performance of the machines are amazing, by far the fastest laptops in school. I have always been an HP man in the past but I cannot beat the pricing and flexibility of a custom built laptop. With the price of their hardware and the amazing service they provide I'm hopefully looking at a long term relationship with them...
