  1. Does anyone have a definitive guide to setting up the link for Apple School Manager to InTune, and getting devices enrolled and configured etc? I’ve tried all sorts but just keep coming up with issues. If anyone can point me in the right direction to some thinking that starts right at the beginning, and ends with a fully enrolled/managed/configured device, then that would be amazing. cheers
  2. We do have senso so I’ll report the issue to them. Cheers
  3. Hi, yes, local login does the same. build has been done with MDT but also this has been happening when built from UBB too.
  4. Hi, we have about 500 Dell 3150 that had 24H2 installed over the summer and they’re crashing a hell of a lot. 24H2 is on all the other desktops, and different laptops, but these specific devices seem to be struggling the most. They’re domain joined and when a user logs on, after approx 5 seconds after the desktop appears the screen goes black with just the cursor showing. CTRL - ALT - DEL and run explorer again recovers the desktop, but the issue will keep occurring. We have followed all sorts of attempted solutions online to get his fixed with no joy. Dell drivers are up to date and Dell support doesn’t know what the issue is. 22/23H2 works fine but 24 doesn’t and neither does 25. Has anyone come across this at all and could offer some info? Thanks
  5. We moved to Fortigate 12 months ago and it's a brilliant piece of kit. We use the filtering side of things and it's worked fine for us. Best wishes
  6. The product was/is superb but we just couldn't afford it. I think we were quoted just over £10k + vat per annum at the time and that was for a small school.
  7. Thanks for this. Could you please message me and let me know roughly what you paid per licence? Best wishes
  8. Hi there, I want to enable the security defaults on our tenant but I cannot fathom how to exclude groups of users. ie: primary section of the school. I would have thought this would have been a simple config option but it clearly isn't unless you make an additional purchase. I have spoken to MS and they have said that I need a P2 licence, but the price they quoted was astronomical. Can this be done any other way? I'd also like to know what the pricing structure is for the P2 licence. Is it per user and is that based on FTE? Thanks
  9. Thanks. I have few small PoE+ switches so I’ll put one of those in place tomorrow morning and see what happens.
  10. Good morning, On Friday, I put up 2 NanoHD APs in to a newly refurbished space and they adopted and updated absolutely fine. However, when devices connect to them, they have Wi-Fi for less than a minute and then they get disconnected. The NanaHD’s are wired back to a Nethear PoE switch. Do these need to be on PoE+? We have have 40+ Unifi APs on-site And all are working well, but these are the only NanoHD in place at the moment. Does anyone have any idea what could be the issue here? Thanks in advance. Best wishes
  11. We had a number of older Acer laptops onsite when I started here and to be fair, they lasted well with minimum fuss. Acer want just under £400 inc VAT for a replacement motherboard. I certainly won't be purchasing anything Acer again though!
  12. Hi there, i'm after some advice. We purchased 7 of these laptops in September 2021 and out of these, 3 have had issues. 1 - April 22 - HDD went pop 2 - April 22 - Motherboard failed 3 - 26 Sept 22 - Motherboard failed I logged ticket for issue No3 with Acer even though I knew the warranty had ran out on the 23 Sept 22 in the hope that they would honour it based on the previous issues we have had. They aren't interest and have said they would want £60 for collecting, diagnosis and the return of the device, with the repair fix to be determined by what there diagnosis comes up with. My question is, is this worth pursuing further or should I just get a replacement motherboard and sort it out myself? We won't be getting Acer kit again!
  13. Sorry, yes I should have mentioned that. It to set up to forward the requests to the Smoothwall box.
  14. Hi there, I have been trying for the last few days to get this working with no joy. When I try connecting to the SSID, I'm prompted for a username and password, but when I enter the details, nothing happens for approx 10 seconds until a message appears saying 'Could not connect to 'SSID NAME') We have Unifi Cloud Key and have created a test radius profile etc. The radius profile, the auth server is set to the AD server IP and the accounting has been set to the Smoothwall IP. On the Smoothwall under the BYOD section, I have added the IP of the Unifi controller to the list of Authorised Radius Clients and have a Smoothwall Access ruling in place for the 1812/13 ports. All the shared secrets have been double-checked.
  15. @TechMonkey & @howartp Thank you so much for your assistance. With your help, I managed to complete the task this morning. Best wishes
  16. Hi there, I have been asked to try and sort out a formula to use various bits of info to calculate commission costs. Unfortunately, I'm no Excel whizz so thought I'd ask you very knowledgeable people for assistance. What we want to do is - If student is in year group = 7-9, 10-11 or 12-13 Look up term fees for the relevant year group, in a grid at the bottom of the .xlsx, multiply by the number of terms in the Duration (Terms) column, and then deduct Tuition Scholarship %. Look up boarding fees for the relevant year group (In a grid at the bottom of the .xlsx, multiply by the number of terms in the Duration (Terms) column, and then deduct Boarding Scholarship %. Add the two figures together and then work out the Agent Commission Cost £, based on what % is in the Agent Commission % column. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Best wishes
  17. So with ours setup as below, would you suggest changing it to redirect to SSL login page with background tab? I will be looking at the Radius side of things over Easter but need a quick fix or better fit right now.
  18. Hi there, our Smoothwall went live last week and I'm under the cosh to get a particular issue ironed out. The boarders, who started to arrive back yesterday are connecting to the SSL login page fine, but the sessions are set to timeout after 20 minutes. This makes it impossible for them to watch films and Zoom their parents etc without disruptions. What can be done about this? Many thanks
  19. Hi there, I have added the Smoothwall inline as instructed during the install. LAN – Smoothwall (Port 4 connecting to Sophos) – Sophos XG Firewall – Router – WWW On the Sophos Firewall, there is a rule in place at the top to allow all incoming and outgoing traffic from Smoothwall, without touching it. However, when we try browsing the web, we are not getting any realtime traffic on the Smoothwall and are still getting the captive portal page for the Sophos. Any ideas? Thanks
  20. Hi there, we are a school that currently has a Sophos XG that is doing our web filtering. We now want to change to Smoothwall for the filtering and would like some advice, please. Currently, the setup is: LAN > XG > Router > WWW With the Smoothwall in place LAN > Smoothwall Web Filtering > XG > Router > WWW What would you advise to all Sophos to allow traffic going through the Smoothwall in and out and how to stop the Sophos web-filtering and delivering its Captive portal page? Many thanks
  21. @Norphy - Thanks for all this info. I will look into the services RM offer as I really don't have the time on top of the day to day stuff that's going on.
  22. Good morning, Our support contract renewal is due in May but the schools new owners have just emailed me to say that they will not be renewing it and that they want the RM setup removed as soon as humanly possible. Gulp! Anyone got a quick get of jail plan of attack for this? I’m the only IT person on-site and am very busy day to day as it is and this is just a ridiculous situation to be put in. Thanks
  23. That's what we check at first but the messages should still be leaving traces through Spamwall but it appears they're not even reaching Spamwall. Sending messages to the same destination address via all other means is working.
  24. Good afternoon, Our website changed hosts late last year and it's been flagged up to me that form submission notification emails are now no longer coming through to the schools @school.edu domain. If we change the send to email address to @gmail or @Outlook they come through. We have checked our Spamwall and there are no records of these notification emails even attempting to reach is and the host has said 'we have proved mail delivery works because the messages are going to the gmail and outlook account. That may well be the case but we are not seeing the source IP, message subject or anything on any reports we run. We get info when reports are done based on the previous host IP. We're stumped! Has anyone got any ideas? Cheers
