They can do it, but we just sued to have one that did what I said. On our old network, and we can't change the .exe to point to our new AD etc, or know how to in all honesty. Does this require the IT teachers to type in a new password or just press reset. I am sure people will agree when I say I need this REALLY simple ha!

Chaps, Anyone know a FREE easy password reset utility? Basically want the staff to minimise pupils being out of lessons so we want to try giving them a password utility, so need a utility where they will enter the username and just press a reset button. So something we can define the password to change too, and obviously force them change upon next login? Does this make sense?

How would that sold the problem? We run macs and OS X only. Not windows, nor will we ever be dual booting or installing VM's?

Really wouldn't want to get VM's installed on teachers machines, plus we are a full mac school and no windows, so we would also like to keep it that way! A lot of trouble to just reset a password staring up a VM etc!

Morning all, going to get in here early, I'm free this summer for about 4-5 weeks of work if anyone has any day work. Can travel if needs be but obviously arrangements will need to be sorted. I've been working in schools since I was 16 on an Apprenticeship I am now 25 so heaps of experience. I have worked on full windows domains for about 6-7 years and now a full Apple school. I don't mind getting involved or if you just want me to unpack new equipment etc! Or if you want a full CV let me know! Hi All, Were looking at a digital sign in purchase. We want to be able to have an iPad/Touch Screen in reception that we can load with dates and times of appointments etc. So when a visitor comes in they tap the screen, choose the details and then it sends an email to the person they are here to see. As we are an all amc school we would prefer it to be able to run on an iPad or some mac compatible software that we can link to a touch screen and install on a mac mini or something along them lines. Any suggestions out there? Be great if we could get late kids to sign into it as well so we can run a report of children that are late? Thanks

I took on an apprenticeship at 16, did my CCNA and apprenticeship over 2 years, got a full time job at a secondary school at 19, they weren't fussed at all about my certs just the fact I had worked in a school environment before for 2 years. been here ever since and currently Senior ICT Technician. Get on them it's 16-21 I think!

Sorry to bump but has anyone used one? We was looking at Mimio's, eBeams etc for our school, now we are an ALL mac school, so we want something that looks "Apple" I read about these whilst they were on Kickstarted and were collection ours from Maplin tomorrow (£65). Now were only getting 1 as were not 100% this is for us! Now has anyone used these with a projector? Were hoping it is possible and the teacher can just sit wherever and take this with them and do all theres things, or possibly mount above the board facing down so kids can come up to the front and do some stuff etc? Anyone tried anything like this?

Reflow/Logic board solder, I temp fixed my MacBook (one before the unibody) by using a heat gun and giving it a blast in certain areas! If not speak to MCC for repairs, or new logic board off eBya/The Book Yard!

In my eyes if your going to dual boot a mac then you may as well get a better spec PC for cheaper. This is obviously my personal opinion but to get a mac you have to use it for what it's designed for and with the software that it came with.

No problem, pop down during half term if you wish, my Boss will be in all throughout! Money well spent in my eyes, yes this causes us to face issues, but we are in the process of ordering an additional 1000 iPads to go 1:1 device, this will remove 60% off our problems I;d say! We have the iPads in class use now but obviously there pretty pointless to hand work in as they will be used by various pupils and last thing we want is someone leaving something logged in etc!
