I live in Blackpool around the Fleetwood area, what will this role actually be? A case of a school has a problem we drive out and fix it? Like a managed service? or do you have remote connections to all your managed schools and remote in to fix the problems etc? I have worked in schools for 5 years now, but I'm only 21 so always puts me off applying for these kind of jobs outside of the immediate school environment. The mention of expenses I guess is fuel to and from the locations above? Feel free to reply over PM or reply here as some info may help others. Appreciated Simon

Just installed a new parallels virtual machine on an i5 iMac (Windows 7) and it all installed fine all drivers etc. I joined it to the domain and it shows up in AD fine. I logged onto our school domain and that was all fine went to install SIMS and it said it cannot right to the S:\ (SIMS) drive? I have checked all permissions and all seam fine? So i just messed about and changed it from S:\ to C:\ then it installed. Now it asks for the connect.ini file so i find it on S:\SIMS\ and then nothing happens it just shuts down the Application? Just can't for the life of me figure out why? Any ideas?

Whooo got mine yesterday, queued for 6 and a half hours at the trafford centre, got the at 6 and store opened at 7, we all got hot drinks, loads of dohnuts, bottles of water and I finally got mine at roughly 12. It's awesome it really is!

I was just wondering how everyone got there Macs running on there network? We now have a few macs in school and we have it set up so that we have manually put in proxy settings so they can access internet etc, and that's pretty much it. But how would i map the shared drives to them etc? And generally have them on the network so they can access all there usual files etc? ANY discussion on this would be appreciated.

OK we need to add all students to a group called dashstudent is there a quick way to add all these users with a script or something? Instead of needing to double click each user, then member of, then add, then type in dashstudent, then OK then apply and then OK again. It's just a ball ache and will take ages! We have 1400+ that we need done like ASAP any quicker way? Appreciated Simon
