When I was at my previous position, I campaigned for the server room air-con to be increased from 18 to 21 degrees, as there was no reason for them to be so low. This 3 degree shift had no discernable effect on the servers, but deffo had an effect on the electricity bill! Just before I left, there was a server move going on and the air-con was taken out to move to the new room...... Temperatures got as high as 33, but we had a door open constantly, and 3 fans in the room (which I still maintain just moved the hot air around!) At my current place, I have had the cold air fan set to come on if the room goes above 24.

They were a Christmas present from my (now ex) girlfriend. We used to share a house that was on a farm. Thus wellies were a necessity. Having split from her, the wellies are an expensive doorstop! And, by the way Flat, I am an ordinary working class fella.....so the country set was ALWAYS beyond me.....

Hmmmmm....good days work so far! Upset ASICS, Dunlop, Airwalk and Barbour wearers!!! Unintentionally, of course!

I know because I will ONLY wear Adidas, for the reasons already stated! If I could find a bargain pair that would fit and be as comfortable as the ones I already buy, then I may be persuaded otherwise! Never owned a Barbour, and never will. Nor do I think I'm part of the "Country Set"! I just know good wellies when I wear them!

And I thought it would be the Airwalk brigade that came for me...... Turns out that Dunlop get there first! Wellies should always be Hunter!!! (And green!)

EVERYTHING!!!!! They don't make size 10 trainers for a size 10 foot!!! Whereas the mighty Adidas make trainers that fit straight away! Nike are poo too! and the aforementioned Reebok too! And don't get me started Dunlop!!!

No urban myth about this..... It WAS proved a few years ago that this had taken place across a whole raft of products. The minor shrinkage in size, but no apparent lowering of the price. Anyway, just to add another strand to the thread.... I LOVE Adidas trainers, and won't wear any others..... Why? Well, experience has told me that they "just fit"....Every single time. However, Reeboks, Nike and others are always a little small or a little too big. Mind you, I've never gone on a forum and decried someone for wearing ASICS (even though i should!!!). Apple does seem to instill a "love or hate" reaction in most people.

Is this not exactly the same as Snickers/Mars/Bounty et al shaving a few grams off a bar, and selling at the same, or slightly inflated, price?

This was my argument with my Apple loving brother, about 18 months ago. I bought an entry level Android for £100, and was doing £15 a month on top up. Therefore, over the 2 years I would spend £460 on the phone and calls.... With his iPhone, he would spend £840.... My argument is the almost £400 difference was not a "saving" as such, cos that money would be spent on my family, but represented better value for money. Anyway, since then he's ditched the Apple and got an HTC Sensation....which he finds......Sensational!!!

At my new place, they have had problems with their NAS reconnecting to the server on reboot.... you end up having to go into disk management to reactivate the disk. Is there an easy way to sort this without resorting to changing the disks from Dynamic to basic (as that seems to be part of the problem!) Mango

How can you be sure that she didn't live near Sywell??? It may be that the aerobatic team had got up early and were having a practise? Or some of the choppers were up and about.... It's a busy hub, don't ya know!!!

Having just left a college, where I instigated the use of WDS instead of RIS, to a company where the images are on USB..... I know which I prefer! WDS wins hands down for ease AND speed!

Well, after a month of applying for jobs, I'm coming to the end of my first week in a new place! Having moved from Suffolk to Northants, I was a little concerned about finding a job, but I was headhunted last week, and within 24hrs I had the offer of a job on a much improved salary from my last place! Private sector pay really IS better!!! Though it's NOT in education, I will still be popping in from time to time to see what's happening.

That was pretty decent flying! To be honest, back in '88, I was on detachment to HMS Ark Royal, from the RAF, and I saw something quite similar. In a force 9 gale, off the north of Scotland, I was on the flight deck watching Harriers take off and land. I've never been more impressed than when seeing them put one of those on the deck, when the ship is rolling around in the swell. Makes me wish they'd had camera phones, and youtube, back then!

Help me Edugeek....You're my last hope! Ok, so I'm setting up my stepson's Xbox online for the first time, and I'm having problems with the gamertag. I set up the account, online, a couple of months ago but cannot seem to be able to retrieve or log into it. Does anyone have any ideas? It doesn't help that the GUI has just changed too!!
