Hi guys, I am looking for a windows based or easy to install alternative to squid, ideally free. I currently have squid installed on Windows for our students to access the internet through, as a cache and allowing me to log what they are looking at and block certain sites. But I would like something that would provide more information as to what they are looking at. Any ideas? Cheers

About 4TBs for us would be plenty, we're quite a small school.

Hi, Can anyone recommend a good replacement NAS for our backups? We currently have 2 x Netgear ReadyNAS's placed in different location around the school, but one has packed in and I am looking for alternative as although they did the job, I was never keen on the web GUI to create the shares. Hi Bev, Yeah I can go directly to the page. I have found the issue, when I press delete, it asks me to confirm, but then it tries to take me to the message I just deleted (which of course I just deleted) instead of redirecting me back to the ....admin/all.php page. Not sure how to sort this? Cheers

Right nearly sorted the last thing I am having trouble with is when I try to delete some of the messages it goes to a 'This page can't be displayed' error message. This is the address it gets the error: http://IPADDRESS/messages/admin/all.php?del=24 Any help would be appreciated. Sean

Hi, I have found the solution to the day problem i had to alter the add.php to look like this: $mon = (int)$_POST['mon']; $tue = (int)$_POST['tue']; $wed = (int)$_POST['wed']; $thu = (int)$_POST['thu']; $fri = (int)$_POST['fri']; I am using the latest verions of MYSQL and PHP so maybe that is why? I still have a couple of issues so I might be back!!

Hi, I am currently trying the system as it was recommended, but when I try to add a new message, Ill select the day I want to add it to e.g. Wed when I click Send I get the following error: Error: Incorrect integer value: '' for column 'mon' at row 1 I have to 'Select all' to get it to send. We are looking for a way that staff can put notices/alerts into a place that can be easily accessed and read out in registration. We have been using SIMS bulletins but we are finding it very clunky and staff are deleting notes "by accident". I am thinking of using a blog page in wordpress to do this, but am wondering if staff will be ok with this. Does anyone have a better of doing this? Would be nice to have a way for them to type in the notices click save and then it get posted to the page, rather than them going onto the page itself as i can see the "accidental" deletion happening again. Hi, thanks but I used wireshark and found the issue was with one of our PCs. I restarted the PC and switch it was connected to and it has been fine since. Very strange. But thanks for help. Sean

Hi all, Over the last week we have been getting internet loss. I have contacted SWGFL and it seems we are getting upload spikes that is knocking the internet out and I have to restart the router to get it back. I have checked anti-virus and everything seems fine, how would I go about finding where the spike is coming from? Cheers Sean

Hello, We have installed WordPress on a server to be used by our students as an intranet page. At the moment the URL for the intranet is http:///intranet (which is the folder path in IIS 7.5). But i dont want the students to see the server name, how can I change the URL from http:///intranet to http://studentintranet ? Any help would be appreciated. Sean

Hi, I have an 07 R56 Mini Cooper and I would like to upgrade the radio to enable me to have USB and bluetooth as I only currently have aux out. I have brought the retrofit kit from minigenuineparts but was wondering if I should just upgrade the whole radio. What is the best option? Where can I get an upgraded radio from? I know that the retrofit kit doesnt include bluetooth what options are there for this? Probably hard question but should I have all the cables on the existing radio to fit the retrofit kit as I know removing all the trim to fit the retrofit kit is a long job so I dont want to do it all only to find that I am missing bits? Hi all, We very often use UBCD to diagnose issues on PCs and to format HDDs when needed, but I am not the most organised person and often lose the USB with it on. So I was wondering is there anyway to have UBCD available through PXE/WDS so that I could just F12 and run it as I would when installing an Win7 image? Has anyone done this? Hi all, Is there a way to schedule the Percentage Attendance Report that can be in Reports - Lesson Monitor - Selected Student Reports - Percentage Attendance Reports? Basically we want BTEC staff to get a daily/weekly report of their classes percentage attendance to early identify students who may fall behind. If i can't schedule the pre-made report can I make a report for this information have it exported using command reporter and then have it sent to staff? Cheers
