Yes that's what I was getting at
-
How is your quorum setup?
-
It's obviously not happy about something, but the cluster events log usually tells you else you might want to look at validating the cluster and see if that throws anything up.
-
Thanks, at least you thought of it eventually though unlike me but tbh you do expect an interface option and maybe the use of the keyboard as a bonus!
-
One last bump for this to see if any other Lancs RBC users are using this or indeed any other schools have issues with this website as I'm convinced it's their servers but they are having non of it. Pages randomly don't load etc etc.
-
I don't get why they have a relay where we put in our office 365 details, why not just cut out the middle man?
-
I have been experimenting with Office 365 groups for staff collaboration in departments etc and all was going well until I started experimenting with files. I can create files and folders easy enough but I can't delete them, it seems all the options you get under the main One Drive documents are not there, is this normal?
-
We don't have permissions to create Sharepoint sites either, which is something I was going to experiment with for departments.
-
Yes sounds like a case by case basis as they were asking for IP ranges although if enough people need it who knows. Apparently I am the first one to request it which I find odd as surely someone else needs IMAP access, unless theirs is already unblocked?!?! All requests to the service desk and they will be passed on.
-
Confirmed that it is blocked by their firewall so we have to put a request in
-
Nah it's definitely blocked for us, I ran some basic tests, then ran them from a laptop plugged into the CLEO switch to bypass all firewalls etc: root@NetworkMonitor:~# openssl s_client -connect outlook.office365.com:993 connect: Connection refused connect:errno=111 root@NetworkMonitor:~# openssl s_client -connect outlook.office365.com:995 connect: Connection refused connect:errno=111 I know the above method of testing works as I tried it at home last night. It does work if I try the Lancsngfl mail server: IMAP root@NetworkMonitor:~# openssl s_client -connect outlook.lancsngfl.ac.uk:993 CONNECTED(00000003) depth=1 /C=US/O=DigiCert Inc/OU=www.digicert.com/CN=DigiCert High Assurance CA-3 verify error:num=20:unable to get local issuer certificate verify return:0 (edited output) * OK Microsoft Exchange Server IMAP4 service ready POP3 root@NetworkMonitor:~# openssl s_client -connect outlook.lancsngfl.ac.uk:995 CONNECTED(00000003) depth=1 /C=US/O=DigiCert Inc/OU=www.digicert.com/CN=DigiCert High Assurance CA-3 verify error:num=20:unable to get local issuer certificate verify return:0 (edited output) +OK Microsoft Exchange Server POP3 service ready So I have reported the issue

Yup I can go that route but you can't change the allow external senders to the list.
-
Okay I have had a few things done for me by them today, it was a permission issue that was stopping me and they say the "team" are looking at expanding current permissions for the admin accounts. My next question is does anyone have any devices connecting through IMAP? I have been trying to configure Spiceworks without any luck. I then tried the IMAP settings on Outlook in a VM but that still doesn't work which makes me think it's being blocked? Anyone got IMAP working on your school connection?
-
Thanks for all the replies. We do not currently use Dirsync as its just been setup by our RBC and I doubt I will be able to either as we have only been given user roles for user management and not global admin which is probably the issue as suspected but I just wanted to make sure. As for going through the web interface to that page we get:
-
You can edit groups if you own them by using the admin menu > Exchange then groups but when you come to add a person it just hangs on the screen where you select the person. I managed to add to a group using the power shell command but that's all I have managed to do so far. I'm not getting anywhere else with other commands which I assume is a permission issue ie if I do get-mailbox it only returns my mailbox and not all of them or other commands cannot find recipients or the switch on the command I am using. I'm guessing you need to be a global admin for these and these accounts are just user admins which is understandable for a lot of school setups.
-
I'm back on this issue has anyone come across this yet (distribution lists)?
-
I'm just trying to get to grips with Office 365 and I'm just wondering... Is this usually a button you can switch on and off and is it down to permissions why it's greyed out? I know my user is a user admin and an administrator of the group. I did look up the power shell equivalent but it doesn't seem to be a correct parameter any more. Any ideas?
-
Gah banging my head against the wall now. The option seems to be missing for allowing external senders to send to a distribution list, has anyone else experienced this? I have tried creating a new list and it's no different.
-
Well I came in this morning and it seems to be working through both smtpin and mail. so I have set them as them for now. The office 365 one is blocked by the look of it so I will query their plans for those SMTP servers.
-
That looks like the county SMTP server which they have turned off by the look of it.
-
Always used 587 on our old mail system so all the rules are already there and the firewall confirms the traffic is leaving as it has been on that port for years to the county smtp server.
-
Is access to smtp.office365.com blocked? I'm trying to setup a mail relay for MFPs etc and I've had no luck. I have tried testing through powershell and finally I configured a VM as an IMAP client but it just wouldn't connect to send a test message. The local firewall is letting the traffic through as the firewall rules do not need changing from the old setup as the ports are the same and I wasn't restricting it to a single mail server destination. Anyone else having any issues like this on CLEO? Hard to diagnose these faults when you can't ping externally!
-
Even with the Head's account you can only see the groups you belong to so can't change it unfortunately. It will be the way it's currently set up but I will remember that for new groups.
-
Oh and I just confirmed all our distribution groups will only accept email from an internal email which messes up a lot of our group emails.
-
How's this working with admin accounts then? The Head's account is an admin but can't create new admins and all the distribution lists are owned by an account called "admin" whose password cannot be reset, so I can't edit them..... Is there some finalisation to happen with the admin side?
