I have extrnal working as I want, using SSL and forms Auth, internal is the same, the students click a link on the desktop and should go straight in but at the moment they need to log in using forms Auth also. the cookie remembers the login so if they close and reopen its fine for that session only. However I know they will get hacked-off if they have to log in every session!

Thanks for your advice, I will have a look next week, I have to say as we migrated from 2003 its been a real pain, May I PM you if I get stuck?
-
Having just migrated from 2003 to 2010 our students accessed email via the owa, as they were on a domain pc they were not required to log in as they were using windows integrated authentication. If anyone accessed via webmail@... They were required to enter username and password. I have looked at the settings for 2010 and I can't seem to have this facility in 2010; you can't have forms based and integrated auth on at the same time. Am I missing a trick here? Any advice will be greatly received.

Just a quick question, I have just set up a fog server version 0.30. I have tried to image one of our acer eee-boxes. It looks as though the harddrive is not being seen. I have done the normal Googling, only came up with setting the drive controller into a fallback mode in the bios. The acer doesn't have this option, so I'm at a bit of a loss. Any help please.

Moodle database on SQL Server
Paul_Fielder replied to Paul_Fielder's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
We also discovered this late this afternoon, obviously it fails due to the Sql / MySQL code differences but I will have a stab at making the changers on all 80,000 lines of code when we get the time. I’m hoping that a find and replace may get us by. Thanks Paul -
Moodle database on SQL Server
Paul_Fielder replied to Paul_Fielder's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
We need to get it back into MySQL so that its is easy to update patch and add plugins, so MySQL is the natural route. Thanks for your comment. -
Hi, We have Moodle installed with its database setup on a SQL Server, is it possible to move this database across in with the data intact into a MySQL database. I have tried exporting with EMS MsManager however, the file size is 109 MB, the limit for an import into PHPmyAdmin is 2 MB. We understand that we may have to hand edit some of the table creation SQL, but just wondered if there is a cheap (FREE) alternative anyone could recommend. Paul

What we had done was set a second IIS to handle the external side of SLG. Now we have one instance of IIS covering both port 80 & SSL. Thanks for those who commented. Paul

We have our Sims Learning Gateway set up for external access over SSL. Users can log in however the SIMS web parts all report the following errors "Web Part Error: An unexpected error has occurred." Its fine internally over port 80, so we are not sure what we are doing wrong! Anyone have any suggestions that we should try. Thanks Paul
