That sounds just like what i want. im trying to replicate the useres in both domains. currentley we have 2 domains server 2003 + win XP and 2008R2 + win 7 there running side buy side at the moment while i setup the new domain. i want to get all the new users into the new domain without having to type in all 800 users one buy one Thanks.

Hi everyone, I'am currently setting up our shiny new windows 7 domain we are almost there but I have hit a bump in the road. Please help I went to create a mandatory profile for our students and copy it to a share like i have always done in windows XP and found the button grayed out. After talking to Google I have found Microsoft have disabled this button. I have also found loads of old men moaning about it. every one was so busy slating Microsoft i cant find any guides on how i should go about making a mandatory profile. Please help! Thanks,

Hi everyone, Im extremity confused about KMS I thought there would be a roll i could install and just tell it what my KMS keys where and that was it. i have been googleing around and have only found a Microsoft article telling me how wonderful KMS is im running server 2008R2 I want to activate win 7 and office 2010 (just received my key today) is there something i need to install HELP! thanks!

Hello everyone, We are planning a move to windows 7 over the summer holiday 2010, our current solution for imaging computers is ghost 5.0, most of our computers are a pain to find dos drivers for and we have been having a load of problems with ghost lately so i want to get it replaced! can any one suggest some software so we can deploy windows 7 images over our network Requirements, would be nice if its free must be able to deploy windows 7 not run on Linux (not that i don't like Linux i just don't know it well) Sorry i forgot to say in my original post, I have a look at getting the latest Ghost suit but licencing is way to expensive!!! Quick update. I have to upgrade the functional level of my Live domain so i can make a trust relationship beterrn the domains. im wateing till the easter holidays to preform this task as Im not 100% sure if i need a restart or if users can login while i preform the update. I want to run 2 domains side buy side. some clients will be windows 7 and some windows xp. this means some users will will be changeing from the windows xp domain to the windows 7 domain several times a day. the server with there my docs will need to have security for bothe users from both domains. as Firefox said a trust relationship between the domains should do the trick. our media suit of 20 computers is currently setup like this 20 x computers all with 1 x 80GB and 1 x 250GB hardrives adobe is installed on the 250 in a hidden folder so the students cant get to it the 250GB hardrive has permissions for a "media" group students use the same computer for the year. work is backed up to a server every Friday night and held for 3 weeks hope this helps

Spot on. this domain was upgraded from NT4 and has some relay weird stuff going on. so i want to start fresh. i better get googleing setting up a trust between them. I currently having another problem with DNS. i dont want DNS and DHCP on the new server yet. so im using the DNS and DHCP that is currently running on my old domain. Im preaty sure i have to set soem stuff manually in DNS so the new domain name resolves to the correct IP address. is there anythign else i need to do??

Hi, I'm planning a migration to server 2008R2 and windows 7 in the summer. so i want to make a 2008R2 domain and run it beside our 2003 domain. The plan is to build the GPO's and everything else in 2008R2 domain and make sure everything works while not affecting our current setup. The problem is i need to have some servers on 2 domains (I think). so our current network works fine but the new domain has access to shared spaces and resources (eg. user spaces, G: drive for SIMS, printers) The question is, can i set permissions for a users documents from 2 domains. example. Johns documents Security, domain\jhon Full access domain2\jhon Full access hope this makes scene Thanks for any help.

Hello guys, We are currently using Bromcom's Win-folder for e-reg, we are having problems with our PE department as they need to be able to take reg on the field. WiFi coverage is sorted but its not a good idear to take a 17" laptop in the middle of a muddy field. so we got some of bromcom's useless xpda's but i have had enough of them not working properly. as all of our PE staff have Iphones I thought we could use that, is there "an app for that" or a secret web interface Thanks, Pete,
