this may help you, we found out a few years ago that if the wall it is fixed to is not flat ( bowed ) and you fasten the bottom screws to tight it bends the board making the membrane tight , also it could be down to an earthing issue also dependant on what kind of wall the board is fixed to, ie it may be fixed to a plasterboard wall where the board has the metal coating, hence the screws that are fixing the board at the bottom are making an earthing contact. we tend to use small rubber grommets on the screw holes at the bottom before fixing the board down so the screws are not touching the bottom brackets. just a thought but check your wall to see if there is a bulge in it anywhere.

what speakers do you have installed?

Advised to use a promethean certified installer, as indeed i am, we have regular training updates and our installs can be tracked back to individual installers, use an un-cerified installer at your own risk!

just stating an opinion, hopefully they will sort the problems out, but for now the sheer amount of heat they excreet and the filterless technology do not bode well in my estimations, but again thats just my view,

knew this would happen, (my previous reply to another thread) how can a filterless projector last the distance, in my opinion we will only see this problem escalate, casio may be busy this year with swap outs and warranty calls,

looks like it utilizes the same sliding mount as an epson projector? i may be wrong,

from what i remember these projectors should have a cowling surrounding the projector itself, its held together with 5 screws if you take these out the cowling will come apart and the projector will be there, you should be able to maintain it from there, have you tried to reset the projector at all? thats presuming you have time to access the menu from the remote before it turns off, best bet is to take it off the boom arm, it will slide off the end if you take the orange end cap off the boom arm, just remember though you will have to realign it afterwards when you put it back on the arm, hope this helps, i think there was a thread somewhere that spoke of a thermal sensor or something like that? Hi Mate, have you checked all the connections at the faceplate end, ie the vga connection? also are you using a video splitter at the pc end at all, if you are maybe worth checkin that its operating properly, maybe try plugging in another laptop and seeing if an image is projected or do a source search on the projector, check connections at the projector also as im presuming you have a height adjustable system so should be easy enough to lower it to a good working height to check, failing all these kind of connection checks then maybe you have a blown bulb, can you see the menu when its pressed on the remote at all? just from the brackets i was supplied to fit the casio projectors into is what i am saying, and no they werent fitted with just a plate, it was an encased shelf bracket, specifically manufactured to house the projector into,also they say maintenance free, how can a projector be maintenance free if it has no filter? hope fully it c0-ordinators etc will keep up with the cleaning that will be required, its a great peice of kit dont get me wrong i will not say the manufacturer as i will probably get told off again!, and i would not be surprised if they do fail into next year no, but that is only my thoughts , possibly not the thoughts of others, Regards

si i think you may be right, i found them to become very hot very quick and having them incased in some of the bracketry i have used seems to block up most of the projector with not much airflow, i reckon we will see a high failure rate towards the middle of next year especially when summer comes around and them classrooms are burning hot! i wouldnt advise using bits of chipboard and drilling extra holes into existing projector brackets!, [advertising removed] do a range which house the casio projector perfectly and are backward compatible with a 50mm pole, plus imagine your brand new projector falling from height after being poorly and unprofessionally fixed from a piece of wood!, deffo not good practice,

enjay i would check on the particulars of the schools insurance before you proceed with your installations as my insurance is very specific and geared towards audio visual installations in particular, it may be that your school insurance does not cover liability for your installations, worth checking before proceeding if you ask me, last thing a school would want to be lumbered with is a lawsuit for the death of a child where a projector falls off the ceiling due to insufficient safe fixings and lack of insurance, Cheers Pete

you should really have professional installers who are accredited engineers as this could invalidate any warranty you receive with any smartboard equipment or promethean boards you may try to install on your own, also im presuming you use good fixings for your projector brackets for heath and safety reasons most installers like myself also have to carry a minimum of 10million pounds public liability insurance now to work in schools. cheers pete

I agree with ,marci, we found the problem to be overheating , ie teachers never turning them off overnight or weekends or holidays, it is not advisable to hide the psu inside dado trunking as we have found these to generate a high level of heat when hidden in such a way, we tend to use two black fixings on the wall and use tiewraps to hold the psu inplace, the connecting end of the power lead(to the amp) can be cut down to length so as to not have as much cable to "hide" within trunking etc. If you do this its worth noting that the cable with the writing on is the plus terminal to the amp, another option is the techconnect amp Vision Techconnect V2 TC-AMP2 Stereo AMP 2 x 20W - Misco.co.uk These are another option and are starting to become quite popular with my customers, the amp and all connecting modules can be housed in one twin faceplate and saves having another single facplate where your nuvo amp is situated, keeps things neat and tidy with all connections in on place, you will still have a psu to mount somewhere but these are a fairly good option in considering using an inwall amp,only thing is with this option is that you will have to source a set of speakers, but in the case of nuvo you can buy the speakers and amp as one bundle for around 100 quid , Hope this helps out

possibly invest in a set of sahara or smart speakers which have usb ports on the front which you can insert your usb stick into,,

Hi i have used lindy wireless projector servers before, these are the best ive used also it seemed to transmit audio and video very well, quite pricey but i recommend them

these motion detector systems are no good, even though they are epoxy resined to the projector they offer no "visible" security, these can be ripped off the projector and discarded even if there is a bit of damage to the case of the projector the thief aint worried about that, plus it would take minimal time to nick a projector with a motion detector attached , therefore less thinking time from a gippo thief point of view, he or she is more likely to look at a top quality cage installation and think " hmmm no good will leave this one" your far and away best not skimping on security issues and invest in proper equipment and installation for your projectors, even though cash is short nowadays it far better with forethought spending the money instead of havin repeat robberies of poorly installed and ill advised security options,

or you could drop a power pole down to the teachers desk and install faceplate within this...... this is presuming the teachers desk isnt directly infront of the projected image ...

these are also loss preventation certification board approved, best one on the market, but agree with educare av that these should be fixed securely preferably with chemical fixings if a concrete ceiling ive installed many of these in new build schools and they are by far the best on the market.

or u may well have a knackered amp, they tend to overheat if the teachers leave them on overnight, replaced many hundreds of these over the years,

hi mate, i think they range from 48" to 77" diagonal interactive area sizes, throw distances differ, usin an epson projector onto lets say a 77" board ideal throw distance would be between around 2.5mtrs up to around 2.7mtrs, and say for a 48" board throw would be around 1.5 mtrs,
