  1. This was a while ago now, but just wanted to say that Achandlers suggestion worked a treat, thanks!
  2. Seems silly to ask but what is the best way to do this, there is no KB on Support Net. I'm assuming it's a bit of a task to do a 'leave no trace' uninstallation of FMS.
  3. Morning all... Have just moved SIMS and FMS to a new server. Now have FMS running successfully on 2 machines, but I get an error when logging on with a 3rd: General SQL Error. [Microsoft] SQL Network Interfaces: Server doesn't support requested protocol[xFFFFFF] I thought it was an FMSconnect.ini issue, but have used the same .ini file from the other working machines to no avail. Logging on as the admin on the same PC I get no errors, FMS works fine, suggesting a permissions issue, but user has same permissions as other users. I did notice that when I ran odbcad32, in the native client configuration, the SQL server in the drop down box seems to switch back to the old SQL instance (ADMIN_YJB\SIMS2008) after I have selected the new instance (YJB-MIS\2008) and saved. Any ideas how I can fix this - do you thing an uninstall/install of FMS on the machine to start fresh would be the answer? TIA! Dave.
  4. After hours of searching this solved one of my IEP issues - thanks helenb!
  5. Thanks Sister, how can I confirm this?
  6. Morning everyone, thought I would throw this one out there as it's baffling me here. We have a webserver with hosted Moodle/Joomla/Wordpress installations. From the webserver itself, you can access the internet with no restrictions. The only domain you cannot access is the school's domain. Does anyone know if this could relate to PHP or MS SQL configuration? I ask because we've tested other possibilities and this is the last thing I can think of. Any ideas would be welcome!
  7. I've only managed to find a couple of off-the-shelf solutions - "Notify" from NetSupport is probably the best i've come accross and would cost us under £200. NetSupport Notify - Desktop Alerting Solution
  8. Hi all, Can anyone recommend a decent classroom alert system? I'm looking for software that sits on all PCs and allows the teacher to quickly alert admin staff of any issues during lessons (bad behaviour of students in general). I've inherited something called FIDAM by Bromcom, which seems to be very unstable, very old and no longer supported. We are SIMS users but I don't think they provide functionality such as this. Thanks from a 1st time poster!
