Normally the first time new student would log on is in their first IT class and they go from there, but we have a help sheet that is given out to all users at the start of each year explaining how to log and us e-mail.

Though it will be a pain at least this way @MattDLEA will be able to be sure that the Admin and teachers can read the documents and that the students can get to each of there own work. But yes a lot of work sorry

Do you have the correct permissions? Check that you have read permission on the files and then you should be able to get in, just try it on one at first.

Where I work takes a copy of there user spaces and then deletes the user from AD then deletes there user spaces and e-mail

This would be one way or to have roaming users setup for the student so they can uses any computer on site. I think @DJ-1701 has the right idea a laptop only that student uses would be easy to set up
