  1. Yes could do but would need to hide it in a module lower down. Thinking of using this to view the data when the code is in our website: AG Google Analytics component - Joomla! Extensions Directory
  2. Hi wanting to add google analytics tracking to Joomla. What is everyone else using? There are a few options available but wonder what other people are using? Cheers,
  3. Guys, After some advice here. We have lots of mp4 and FLV files that we going to stream from our joomla web host provider. What is the quickest and best way of showcasing these? I'm looking into cooliris but only problem is that you have to use the video from youtube and a lot of our schools have youtube blocked by default. Any ideas?
  4. Yes i'm doing a offline test first using Xampp then going for it next week. Our current site is a bit pants and rather than developing everything were lauching the new joomla site and building on it as we need to we can use it straight away.
  5. Brilliant, thought it would be something along those lines Thanks again.
  6. Hi, I'm moving our site to a new dedicated server hopefully. What is the best way to backup and restore? I've FTP'd all the content across and have also done a MYSQL backup of the Joomla database so i was thinking of restoring the joomla database using phpmyadmin, then uploading all the content to the root folder on the new hosting through CS New Media. Have i missed anything out of this step?
  7. Can you make the ticker tape in Imovie 09 any bigger?
  8. Thanks for that it does work but it might need a quality check doing first before rolling it out. Best get some language experts to have a look at it before we start to use it on mass. Thanks, Ben
  9. Hi, Working with a school who wants to translate their sharepoint text into many languages to suit the diverse needs of the parents / students. Google translate will do it but unsure on how to bring it into sharepoint. Has anyone done this before or am i breaching new ground here?
  10. Right guys i've tried everything in the guide and to no avail. Does anyone know why the menus would suddenly dissapear? The only thing i can think of now is to backup the MYSQL db and web content and try and replicate to a new site. Our current hosting provider as well is running our site on a virtual site so i don't know if this could have anything to do with it? I'm thinking of purchasing some new webspace and hosting with a joomla specific company like CS New Media as it's been recommended by lots of peeps on here and working on our website with a temporary IP address until it's built then lastly transferring the domain name over and going for a big bang style launch. Any help to why the menu has dissapeared would be greatly received. I'm setting up a VM with LAMP or XAMPP on it to try and transfer our site locally. Cheers, Ben
  11. Hi Guys, Still using your edugeek 1.5 package. Just installed JoomlaXplorer to move some files around in the media folders into sub folders and for some reason when we login to the administrator site the top menus are not working right. I've done a good old google on it and came up with the following that i'm going to try: Joomla! • View topic - Admin Menu Drop Down is not working Has anyone else come across this?
  12. Hi Guys, I have a Techotrend TV Stick usb TV Tuner card that works fine in windows, but thinking of moving it to a Mythbuntu setup? Does anyone know if it will work?
  13. Hi Guys, Just making our site during half term. I want to have a latest news specifically for each section / area for our website. I've tried the mod that's pre-built into Joomla and that brings through all the latest articles but is there any way of telling this to only build the list based on the new articles in a section?
  14. I got round it by doing the following. A added a menu item and pointed this to the article i wanted. Then copied and pasted the link information from this and put it into the hyperlink on the picture using the hyperlink tool. It just seems a bit of a faff around doing this.
  15. Really easy one this. I have a jpg and want to link to an article. Usually with sites you can click on the link button and then point it at the content you want to go to like when you create a menu button and point to the article you want. However i think i have to manually put in the ?php..... the article number is 127. I know its probably easy peasy lemon squeezy but i'm having a lot of little durrrr problems until i get into the full swing of Joomla'ing.
  16. Me too on this one, but think i can work it out if i spend a bit of time on it. Cheers, Ben https://cid-67a862e29eaac5f1.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Joomla/image%20prob.jpg
  17. Hi Peeps, Sorry to be a pain... I'm using this template and just putting new menus and customising things. Does anyone have a screen print of all the module positions. I tried putting the ~1 at the end of the index page and a few of the modules are overlapping each other so can't work out where things go.
  18. Hi we have a resource scheduler management system provided by peoplecuble (formerly meeting maker). Everything is running fine and we have this on a virtual server running SQL 2000. We want to run off reports from the underlying database. I'm OK with this but can't connect through to the server using standard ODBC links from Access because of SQL Surface Browsing isn't enabled. Does anyone know how to get this working? I don't want to upgrade to server express 2005 if possible. Thanks,
  19. Hi, I am working with a school on development thier learning platform. I can access their Sharepoint based Learning Platform fine but it keeps asking me for the username / password constantly like 20 times to load all the elements of page. Internally within the school its fine just externally that's the problem. I'm accessing it through a macbook that's not on our domain and with a direct line for internet so it can't be the internet. Also I've tried running through a Virtual Machine with Win7 on and it doesn't ask you for the password as many times but still annoying. Thanks, Ben
  20. I agree with this. I started off as a trainee on £60 per week. Then over ten year period constant training from NVQ2, HNC, HND, Degree, CCNA blah blah blah but i'd put anyone with hand's on experience over a qualification. If you have both it opens up lots of opportunities. I'm still doing training now but might consider doing a teaching qualification next.
  21. Thanks Guys! It worked fine. I can now create everything i need on a testing machine and then swap it over to HyperV using the conversion tool. Mint
  22. Hi I've setup a VM using Sun VirtualBox as I work on a Mac. Everything is working fine and the VM is functioning as it should. Now i want to move this to our 2008 R2 server. I have two options here. One is to convert the Sun Virtual box files to HyperV format so i can run these from the server or the other alternative is to install virtual box on the server as well as HyperV and copy the files over. I really would like to convert the machine to HyperV. I've looked all over the internet and can't seem to get anywhere. I was just wondering if any of you guys have done the same and could give me a point in the right direction? Thanks, Ben
  23. Just a quick question. What is the difference of running the finance.exe or the FMSLoad.exe?
  24. Yes i think so. I'm glad we found a quick work around though or all payment runs would stop
  25. Thats what i thought. Its strange because everything was fine until some MS updates kicked in on the machine and messed with something. I copied the latest FMS files from the server and the error went away. We will test a bit more before finally closing the door on this one. Cheers, Ben
