I'd ask whether there was any point in installing the 32bit version really.. If your hardware supports it, I'd install it.

My typical set up is as follows: vhosts.conf (because I like them all together and don't trust a2en/dis site) Default vhost at the top for ServerName mywebhost.com and ServerAlias http://www.mywebhost.com so stuff like http://www.mywebhost.com/forums /bugs /admin etc all 'just' work for anything I install. I then have separate name based vhosts if its on a single IP for bob.mywebhost.com and jane.mywebhost.com to an individual folder so they too can have bob.mywebhost.com/forums /bananas etc. If you want to see some configs / examples of what I have give me a shout.

On gentoo, you should be able to use /etc/init.d/iptables save which will dump it into /var/lib/iptables/rules-save and then when /etc/init.d/iptables start is ran on boot up it should load them back as below. /etc/init.d/iptables save * Saving iptables state /etc/init.d/iptables stop * Saving iptables state * Stopping firewall /etc/init.d/iptables start * Loading iptables state and starting firewall

Some Sony's have a wizard to create recovery media, have you checked this and whether there's a recovery partition?

You could try a tutorial such as HOWTO: Internet sharing with Ubuntu (NAT Gateway) - Ubuntu Forums on the Ubuntu Forums but it's important to make sure you back up any files you change just incase it doesn't work. A router / switch would probably be easier...

Depending upon whether the original Flash Player 9 package comes off 'cleanly' it should just be a case of allocating the MSI (jump through the RM Application Wizard hoops / cheat by doing it yourself) out to the machines after deallocating the old one. My advice would be to take a single machine, log onto it as an administrator and 'uninstall' the current Flash Player 9 and see if it comes off cleanly without any errors (check event viewer) and if so then right click install on your new MSI/package and see if it installs cleanly (again check the event viewer) and then nip online and see if the change is good. Depending upon which level Flash Player 9 is allocated you may be able to deallocate it from a small set of workstations and test the deployment of the new version into those solely but if its allocated at Main Site it won't work without some allocations further down which is a little messy. Hope this gives you some thinking space.
