Getting the unlock code from your provider may be harder if it's orange (for whatever reason) but from what I've heard from people who've done it with bloke on market or whatever that it's fairly unimportant who the provider is.

Unless things have changed, EMBC don't allow access via Exchange (MAPI) only via POP/IMAP/OWA. I could be wrong though.

It depends which few you've attached to the network, if the infection is only in a certain area which is still isolated you won't know until you reconnect them. My personal advice would be to just flatten the lot of them with a reinstall after you're absolutely certain the servers are patched up and clean. I can dig you out a script you can run if you reconnect everything and the infection continues; it will check an ip range and report back any potentially infected machines.

I'm surprised Exchange runs on something that low spec. But yeah, I'd agree with you, I'd retire Mercury, up the spec of Sun + introduce a second 'Sun' server of the same spec which you can rely on for the future. You could then as you say use Sun as it is for back ups.

You're very welcome. Flash Player is no problem as long as you apply for the license here. I recently deployed Tux Maths and Tux Typing at a site using MSI so that's ok too. I've not used Scratch so can't comment there, again depending upon which codecs etc. Should be relatively straight forward I'd imagine. Good luck!

I think it would be a great idea as long as it's actively maintained. An Appdeploy.com MSI Knowledgebase style section might be useful, targetted at 'common' apps in education, perhaps sharing best practice for those times where you're thrown a bit of software and told it needs to be done within the hour. Of course, can't be sharing MSI's (if copyrighted/etc) but the knowledge behind it could be handy in one place.

We'll need to wait and see what happens, everyone knew there would be changes etc and if HP want to buy the hardware side, they must be doing it for a reason. (Of course, the EDS margins are one, but I like to think the quality of the hardware is another). In most circumstances I'd imagine you'd want to do this from within the Computer configuration so the applications are all installed prior to the user wishing to use them? Computer Configuration > Software Settings > Software Installation Do you have some software title names in particular that some people here may have had experience with to offer some advice?

Wow, those are some expensive batteries. In my previous life we used to buy a multibay charger and a spare battery for the laptops (in trolleys). That said, we rarely used them as the charge was pretty good and charged up over the lunch break in the trolleys. Cost per battery on those were closer to £50. (quick rm search for mobile one battery).
